Of course they can. They're expensive to host, and if they're legally scrubbed off of places like huggingface then they are for all practical purposes 'closed' as in unavailable to people who don't already use them and if they're illegal or outpaced by Sota the ones who have copies can't even use them.

Ok. And I'm supposed to do what with this information, exactly?

Considering the tendency even now of LLMs to hallucinate, and the hardware requirements for any kind of LLM -why not just gather those resources into some sort of local archive that can be searched without an LLM?

This seems redundant and requiring more overhead while providing less reliability than something like Kiwix to me.

Democracy has been deprecated in the United States, and will be removed in a future 'election'.

It may be more pleasant to work outside -or it may not (it's almost winter here in Alaska -that would be a hard pass for me!). but no -it's definitely not the same, as you pointed out.

>It's hard to offer people a better tomorrow, but AI has already changed the world for the better, and will continue to change it.

As long as you ignore the ecological damage from data centers and the jobs lost by AI -yeah, it's all sunshine and roses over here!

That was completely accidental and they themselves tried to close the barn door with the PS/2 line in 1987 but at that point it was too late.

>And when they found out you stole it and claimed it as your own, they weren’t impressed?

This needs to be emphasized.

Basically they realized it was droppings from the theft machine when they'd been told it was original content and they felt betrayed and disgusted -reasonably so, I might add.

There's no way the future is good, near term or long term. Not unless you're a part of that specific class.

I took buspar for like 4 years because it basically didn't scramble my brains the way other anti-depressants worked and I could say I was 'cooperating' with treatment -despite getting no benefit from it.

I had no issues getting off of it; not to say that other people don't either -they very well might.

>The question is, what do you do as the new administration coming in?

I'm not assuming that there will be another administration, everything points to the US continuing down the road it's on.

>Is this also true of Linux?

It is not, nor of open source software in general.

In general, the saying is specifically in reference to services provided over the internet -gmail, youtube, whatever. Note that you don't have the right to modify them and share your own copies -they're closed source.

So no, it's not true of Linux, GNU, etc; it's an apples and oranges comparison.

It doesn't have to be a specific concern. It's better to remove the option than to find out later that you've gotten burned by something you had no way to anticipate.

Don't take chances, give as little as possible. Better to assume you'll get burned somehow and leave it off.

I can't reproduce it, so I don't buy it.

I'm not a big believer in valerian, based on my experience. It's certainly not a stand-in when it comes to treating panic attacks. For sleep, it could work but I generally tend to prefer melatonin.
