> Tell me how seed oils isnt associated with all our health style issues?

Ok, smoking, air pollution, mining runoff and water table poisoning, industrial waste, low-nutrient density foods, processed foods, sugary foods, red meat, Soda, energy drinks, lack of preventative care, lack in general of practical and affordable healthcare, alcohol, I could go on with hundreds of other things. But sure, seed oils are the problem. All of these are much more harmful to society than seed oils. Sure, are they used in excess? I'll grant that, but replacing them with animal fats is awful.

Linseed oil (flaxseed oil) is high in ALA and omega-6 fats, it could cause a REDUCTION in inflammation in some cases. It has the best omega-3:omega-6 ratio I know, and plenty of others are not harmful.

It sounds like you found something that works for you, but please keep the misinformation out of this convo.

Summarizing what the doctors said is fine, but please do not rely on LLMs for medical advice. As someone here helpfully pointed out, bringing someone along and having them take notes will do wonders for followup questions and research down the road, but please use existing sources. LLMs can explain a diagnoses, but cannot reliably CHOOSE a course of action. Doctors make mistakes, but they also are legally liable, through malpractice and certifications, for their medical opinions and treatment. LLMs are not.

There are many good resources out there that will not gloss over important details, and have experience (hard-earned) behind them.

Best of luck to the author and everyone dealing with it, stay strong!

I just know this will be thoroughly investigated, all responsible parties held accountable, and the proper countermeasures and applicable laws will be updated to punish and disincentivise this behaviour in the future. Just kidding.

Things change when the cost-benefit analysis moves. If you apply the law strictly and effectively, the behaviour will adjust.

Agreed, and furthermore, I would imagine since some projects (thinking ghostty, linux, and others) are non-profits there are tax incentives for donating and supporting. Software stacks are still neglected, and that points to inefficiencies (companies and corps not valuing open source) and willful malice (hiding them in the "proprietary chain"), and just general abuse of the commons (take and don't pay).

AI has made the "hard" things more important. Everyone can now build an e-commerce website or demo, but the utilities, OSes, and browsers now serve as the base of those projects. They are beginning to be overwhelmed, whether it be through AI bug reports, exponential load on some platforms, or other indirect factors, and there isn't much relief in sight.

We need a large re-alignment of Math, Software and Sciences. I'm not elucidating anything new here, simply musing. Science and math workers can be focused on replication and application, and software expertise focuses on the "foundational" systems.

Great execution.

The math equivalent of AI code reviews piling up. I wonder where the incentives will align and the equilibrium turns out.

Copepods and a variety of other things like molluscs and small fish, not necessarily just one species. Of course, as you point out, the fish must have more food biomass than themselves, but it is not as concentrated (high density of one genus) in the lower trophic levels.

Counterpoint, the differentiation is maturity. If all models are simply interchangeable commodities, what's the payoff for Anthropic or OpenAI?

Vastly different ways of interacting with each provider is another story, but really we are pretty spoiled here. Slightly different prompting techniques is not really a big deal. If anything it shows the user has some nuance and appreciation for what each model provides.

Fow what it's worth, I am super happy with Opus 5.5. Less verbose than 5 and just gets work done. The progress has been astounding, and if I have to coax it out a bit differently on Opus 5.5 vs Astra 6, I am happy to pay that small price.

I use for the exact same thing. Running "cloudflared tunnel" sets up a temp solution. No log in needed, pretty convenient.

Oh I use this for testing and demos between my phone and computer. Ngrok is fine, probably better off using Tailscale, but it's very easy to just run a quick tunnel with "cloudflared tunnel --url localhost:XXXX".

We are vacuuming up people left and right with ICE and the message is just play the game? I guess Milo missed the message. The results are too scattershot for any sort of plan.

Edit: typo

Are the foreign students we let in better than the 20% of US students that are excluded? If they are much better, I guess I don't see the problem.

The better solution (for me) is to open up the slots since there is such a huge shortage of doctors. NPs and RNs are not going to make up that expertise gap.
