If I manufactured toys I'd definitely make 1 in 10,000 toys randomly go off just to mess with people.

There is a lot to unpack in your comment, but mostly just consider it's a residential deadbolt. Default to locked, you just turn the deadbolt to leave like any other lock.

And yea, residential locks providing security is the real joke.

I initially felt the same. Then, you realize how terrible residential locks are and you conclude they are mostly theatre. Besides, if you have windows your locks aren't doing anything.

At least now I know who comes and goes, the exact time, a recoding of the entry, have cameras at each door, and can audit the zwave lock against the access system if necessary (every lock and unlock is recorded).

We have physical keys if they fail. And if it goes crazy I can just disable the automations that run it.

We almost got these, but there's one problem... fire. We found we were able to manage the situation as described.

Honestly, after the 3rd time of him trying to run and us stopping him due to the automations he stopped.

I also have limited interest, but alas, I have home assistant and I'm not sure I could fulfill my needs without it.

1 - My child is a runner. Zigbee door position sensors talk to home assistant and play sounds when a door is unlocked or opened.

2 - I'm super private. Giving people a key to my house is not something I'm comfortable with. I use Unifi Access + ESPHome + Zwave deadbolt to get the level of control I'm comfortable with. The doorbell also plays a sound in the house (in addition to the app on my phone)

3 - I have an under counter water cooler that runs way too hot. Zigbee temp sensor + Zigbee powerbar + simple exhaust fan keeps it cool.

4 - I dislike having 15 tv remotes and I have a more traditional AV setup (not sonos). I use events on the TV to control the audio (power on, volume, infer input selection)

AI has made all this a lot easier. I don't reall put a ton of effort in anymore, whereas before I'd have to fumble with configs.

Think of growing up feeling inadequate. Even in the eyes of your parents. Then learning that you don't suck and were completely undeserving of being mistreated as a child.

(No child is deserving of being mistreated but that's a whole other bag of worms)

One should not question the seriousness of ADHD or the benefits of an appropriate treatment plan.

One should question the rate of which it is diagnosed, and who is getting diagnosed.

"People telling you"

That's the real problem. People need to stay in their damn lane.

"Other studies already proved those effects with creatine with a normal dose schedule, what they were testing is if a single high dose would have a beneficial effect too, which it did. A normal schedule is 3-5g per day with an optional loading phase of 10-20g per day during 7 days.

In the study they used a single dose of 0.35g/kg which means 20-40g per dose. How do they not get diarrhea? The loading phase is usually split into several doses to avoid diarrhea and I can personally attest to that being a good idea."

What the above doesn't tell you is that taking a loading dose can draw water into your intestines causing diarrhea. You probably can guess how I found this out.

I slam a lot of water. I also have a toddler and baby who suck at sleeping (I've done all the things, these kids just suck at sleeping).

Since taking creatine I feel so much more energized. I can make it through the day with just 2 coffees (was previously drinking 5 coffees and an energy drink).

Maybe it's placebo. Maybe it's not. I don't really care. I feel the benefit and I love it.

It doesn't need to be as good. You can route to the appropriate model and save so much money.

I have sonnet do the thinking, deepseek does all the tasks. I've massively reduced costs with this approach.

I've been using oh-my-pi for a while and I'm very happy with it. If you're not going to build out your own Pi setup I'm not sure why you'd pick this over oh-my-pi.

And someone will start a competing company in a sane environment.

I've been using omp with deepseek as my task and quicktask agents, and sonnet as everything else.

It's drastically reduced my AI spend. I went from spending $40/day to $10/day.
