What? The US govt has in practice unlimited access to whatever that's hosted in the US, or even outside by a US company. It's called the CLOUD act.

I have done both extensively and heavy, and like you said yourself, with the barbell deadlift you will sometimes trash your back. Yes it does work the back muscles a little harder, but for me the extra risk isn't worth it. Also with the trap bar you can lift more weight so it balances out.

> the best workout is the one you can do on the way to the bathroom

Absolutely not. This is what you tell sedentary people to get them to move a bit. For your purpose of looking good, you're wasting your time. You need to add weight every workout.

> I've been training with appearance (especially to women) in mind

That is the wrong mindset, but then again what I told you earlier will give you the appearance you seek. Seriously just go to a proper gym with a barbell.

That is way too much, of the wrong type. You're doing a lot of isolation work, but really you should be focusing on compound lifts with the barbell. Check out Stronglifts 5x5 for example.

With a few millions in the bank I'd retire to Asia and live off interests. I guarantee you wouldn't be treated like shit.

> but it goes mostly to the gut

This is so weird to me if you're always working out as you said. What are you doing at the gym? Compound barbell movements with heavy weights will absolutely prevent this and get you jacked in the right places.

Same here, really life changing for me with a back injury. I recommend hex bar deadlifts as they put much less pressure on the lower back than conventional ones. And front squats for the same reason.

At this point I simply don't care about Anthropic or OAI in the slightest, the exciting stuff is coming from China with great, cheap SOTA models and local AI that people can run themselves.

I use bubblewrap directly, never liked Flatpak.

> 90% of features for systems half a decade old

This can be a good tradeoff. An M1 Ultra still runs circles around 90% of consumer hardware sold today, and with Linux it has easily another 10+ years. Now support for M3 is coming.

> Asahi is doing incredible work but it's still 5 people in a garage vs the huge corporation.

Not sure why the "vs" scenario, this is a project that makes no promises. And I think they do have some support from Fedora / Red Hat fwiw.

Yeah for a lot of us macOS really gets in the way of using the otherwise excellent hardware. My daily driver is an M1 Pro with Asahi and it's easily my favorite computer ever. It's a real shame that the newer M models can't run Linux.

I get ~10 tok/sec on a M1 Ultra, but the real issue is abysmal prompt processing which makes it unusable. On the M1 and M2 series MTP is actively harmful for performance.
