> “When our strikes reached Yandex data centers, it suddenly became easier to [use] social media platforms. People noticed there was less hate, less division, and fewer provocations on social media. Because there were fewer bots, it’s pretty clear where those bots were coming from.” | Volodomyr Zelenksy

So he's reporting on what people on social media are saying... which is just continuing the initial misinterpretation of what Cloudflare meant by "Russian bots".

Is Tom's Hardware removing it from their article not suggestive to you that maybe it was wrong?

That was the article title originally, the site must've changed it. Still pushing that "bot traffic" means "social media bots" though.

That in turn comes from

> Cloudflare reports that bot traffic from the Yandex network has dropped to just 0.4% of the maximum number of HTTP requests recorded in the past two weeks

Cloudflare doesn't track twitter posts, does it? But requests to sites on its network. The kind of thing Yandex's search crawlers would be hitting.

Also note (I think) the TH article also initially claimed this was talking about bot posts on social media, but now doesn't?

Misleading headline?

The quoted tweet says that 21-29% of traffic on twitter is bots.

It doesn't say anything about 29% of traffic having actually measurably stopped, does it?

Elsewhere on HN people are pointing out that the "bot traffic" coming from yandex that has stopped is the web scraper bots updating their search engine.
