> "but humans also sometimes fail to load because of network issues"

They do. It's called "stuck in traffic."

Humans hallucinate much more, but they're not that good at making the hallucinations convincing.

It doesn't matter. Even if it were the most friendly community ever, as long as their core value were the same - answering programming questions that with clear answers - it would have been replaced by today's AI completely. It's irrelevant today how bad GPT3.5 once was.

I don't think it has anything to do with AI. Wikipedia has been like that for at least a decade for me.

Human hallucination. It's the equivalent of seeing Jesus portrait in toasted bread.

> to follow the path a branch takes

But vscode and vim do this just as well (in my experience). JetBrains products' advantages over the most lightweight solutions for me are:

- Faster intellisense at least for C# and Java

- Faster syntax errors and other linting-warnings

- Refactor tools

- Debugger and stack state viewer

I still use Rider, but I just don't think faster intellisense/linting matters to me nowadays. Refactor tools feel like something that should come with harnesses. The debugger still helps, but to be honest LLMs are better at debugging than me if you let them dump whatever information they need.

Plus, even with LLMs' help, making and managing a plugin for Rider is a much heavier process than the counterparts for vim/vscode.

I can't imagine JetBrains keep existing in the following years. Every programmer I talked to in the past year (myself included) said their job was mostly reviewing generated code. I can imagine why people still use IDE to review code, but I can't name a reason to use something as heavy as JetBrains products just to review things written by others, AI or not.

I have been a paying user for about a decade. Ironically, when I recommended their products to vim/emacs users, they usually were like "thanks, but I know vim/emacs will always exist", and now I realize they really had a point.

They just haven't released a successful game for years. If you feel the need to attribute their situation to ideologies then it sounds like you are the one who invested in ideologies too much, not Saudi Investment Fund.

Do I believe this is the correct thing to do (as a government)? Yes.

Will I install an app from a third party store? Hell no lol.

Correct title: Do (web development) frameworks still make sense despite LLMs?

The article barely has anything to do with RoR.

Historical fact: the developed world is developed mostly via industrial revolution, a.k.a. they find out how to turn coal into wealth first

Current situation: the developed world emits much more than the developing side per capita. Even France, a country powered by nuclear, emits twice as much as India per capita

Yeah, good luck convincing the developing countries to limit their emission. "Bro please stay poor" and "you have too much population" aren't very nice things to say.

These days I find it's my own fault to spend time reading anything on a .ai top domain.

> I don't think rust is the future

Yeah because it's the present. Rust is everywhere now.
