Trust me, it can be worse.

Coming off a trip from mainland China and the bathroom culture there makes NA look _good_, and that's saying something.

Having tried using it, stuff like whisper.cpp even like 4 years ago is leaps and bounds better in terms of output quality so I imagine they didn't see any reason to continue it.

I had this experience at YYZ once in like 2024 at preclearance (Canadian on a TN), it was very nice, didn't even have to hand over my passport. It went away at some point though and I haven't experienced it since...

Also I guess while we're sharing experiences returning home, at least for US -> YYZ I just fill out info at the self-guided kiosks. Officers just say hi, glance at the receipt and mark it, and I'm done. Never been asked anything so far.

So... what it says?

Yeah, I think that would be neat.

That the new name sounds like (at least to some people) a meaningless blob of letters, similar to what a bunch of tech companies name their products or themselves, I suppose.

Hibernation?

Eh... I guess YMMV, at least for a low amount it took me literally an afternoon, I just froze my card, walked to the bank, explained the issue, and they refunded me on the spot (also switched out the card for a new one). They said technically it could be clawed back after investigation but they never did.

I can also anecdotally say that the x3 I bought from Amazon in like June (seller was xteink official store) was flashable without any bypass needed.

Came here to say this - this is a pretty meh comparison to me, there's too many other factors that are entirely ignored. Price and/or brand alone could easily explain most of not the entire difference.

I'm sure there is some impact to not including it, tbh, but as is this article is a giant nothing burger to me.

No? It would be suing the driver rather than blaming the car.

Anecdotally, as someone who's been starting to get more and more agent-only/driven PRs, a good amount of the time it's by an account with little to no activity until one day they suddenly start doing 50-100+ PRs a _day_ on entirely unrelated projects... you can kind of guess what they're doing.

As for motive, it probably varies, though some will loudly put that they're some agent manager or something with lots of contributions, so you can guess their motivations there.

In other cases, these are instrad brand-new accounts which is a related but I guess slightly different story... not gonna say these are spam bot accounts being juiced with fake activity but well...

> toilets are... clean

Okay I'm going to have to say that this _really_ depends on where you are. Sometimes, yes, especially newer buildings, but man I have seen some horrors there in the past few years when it comes to bathrooms in terms of cleanliness and smell (the frequent smoking in a lot of bathrooms doesn't help). This is coming from someone primarily experiencing Canadian and American bathrooms, for reference, and a lot of those are pretty nasty. I think it's getting better at least...

Just to be clear though I agree generally, at least from my experience with East Asia. Hong Kong often has really good bathrooms now IMO (I feel like it improved a lot between 2018 to 2023?). Japan is also really good from my experience (fancy-ass bidets). Taiwan was fine too from my recollection.
