Free space pathloss for rf signals is proportional to 1/r^2, absolutely bonkers we can get anything from voyager.

tbh reads like AI to me

you dont just get to ci/cd your way to nirvana. your ci/cd are only as good as your tests. your tests are only as good as the understanding of the tests. left to AI nobody knows what the code or the tests are doing they could just be hardcoding passes for all you know.

looking into it more with the release of juliac. i am able to keep algorithms in one place at a high level for simulation/visualization and running things real time in julia, then if I do everything right i can compile it down to a binary for other platforms using juliac

pretty AI-sympathetic vibes in this thread. I generally agree with the author despite everyones opinion (including my own) in this thread that AI can produce great code. Just becuase the code is good doesnt absolve the human-in-the-loop from understanding and clearly documenting and communicating what the system does.

At the end of the day I'm not paying an engineer to send me claude all day. I'm paying someone to become an expert on a system, even if AI assisted. The product will be better if i have someone that deeply understands the system and where to point AI to. Someone that can understand the full big picture can also anticipate future needs - something AI cannot do at all.

I'm in EE/embedded/FPGA work and you can make an absolute hell of a mess with AI in that world, so maybe everyones opinions are more based around front end software or something. I think people forget there are fields that do not have the huge data training base that frontend/backend software does. a large majority of good designs in FPGA are proprietary at big defense corps, not on stackoverflow and github.

ya i've been a gpt hater for a while. almost exclusively used claude up until astra. astra feels like it blows everything out of the water. its fast, correct, organized, and less verbose.

reminds me of this talk https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eEBv0STiYhI&t which basically says the same thing - they dont think like humans so they dont have context, understand norms, values or implications we take for granted. ultimately they can stumble onto surprising solutions neither wanted or intended but technically within the vague boundaries of the task

funny enough this looks written by AI. could have used a little more creativity.

I swear claude took a detour recently, its written output has been nearly incomprehensible to me. At first i thought i was getting AI-brained and just lost critical thinking but as i dug into response after response its was just the most obtuse language to explain what was going on. Really mentally taxing to wade through it all day.

is there like a unfathomable amount of people immune to the ad cancer of this website? how do they have enough traffic to justify this? may they succumb to AI summarizing their site so people do not have to visit it.

> In today's world, what's the best way to get to a top-tier analytic essay? I'm curious to see.

AI generated content graded by AI for what goal exactly? I don't understand this contest at all.
