For the folks out there that remember the USSR, am I the only one getting strong Правда vibes from that headline?

I didn't mean nginx didn't have these. They are just not in core and require me to jump through hoops to get them.

Modern proxies have these features built in and don't need plugins or sidecar containers.

> Nginx / envoy should be your default choice for most use cases.

Nginx was there like 15 years ago and it feels it has been stuck there with no progress ever since. No metrics, no ACME certs... I moved to Traefik and never looked back.

Tbh, it doesn't seem much different than having to watch out for not stuffing PII in logs.

Besides, with wide events, it seems possible to apply data lineage ideas and mark certain fields as sensitive and restrict access to them.

Interested in the SPEC.md format and workflow. Where can I learn more?

EDIT: found it at https://thinkrail.ai/blog/thinkrail-sdd/

Also... why bun?! I just finished purging it from all my systems, ha! It'd be cool to have plain pnpm support.

> keeping them as standalone tools seems most natural

It's natural to us, purists, but I doubt people care. Everyone wants a single tool that allows them to `uv check` and `uv run` in every project without having to install anything.

Holy slop wall, Batman.

Happy for you, though. Or sorry it happened.

Why, yes, of course, have all the devs in the world spend $25 and tons of time each, because Apple doesn't care about devs nor users.

Can't agree more. We need more "betting" societal stigma.

Oh, well. I might have a bridge to sell you. :D

The US dollar has lost 20% of value over the past 5 years. You can print money out of thin air, but you can't print industrial output (or good games).

You need the team of 500 to do the "telemetry" and microtransactions parts.

The game industry has merged with the gaming industry.

Take this with a grain of salt. I haven't run unikernels in prod, so it's all a figment of my imagination.

> Tools such as `strace`, eBPF, `lsof`, `ss`, etc. have tremendous value.

But doesn't their value lie in getting you access to the core of the OS that you wouldn't be able to touch otherwise? What if your network stack was a library you could instrument just like you do with the rest of your app code?

Also, I don't need a tool to tell me I'm being punished by the IO or CPU scheduler if I am the only one using the CPU and IO :)
