There are commits from before 2020 even and the project clearly marks "pre-ai" development too. If you look for it on the web you find the first postings about it in 2020 already too.

He has invested a lot in podcasting in the recent years for example and still writes almost daily. Why do you think he’s about to retire?

I don't see the average person being able to run DeepSeek's most competitive models though.

From the HN guidelines:

> Be kind. Don't be snarky. Converse curiously; don't cross-examine. Edit out swipes.

>Comments should get more thoughtful and substantive, not less, as a topic gets more divisive.

>When disagreeing, please reply to the argument instead of calling names. "That is idiotic; 1 + 1 is 2, not 3" can be shortened to "1 + 1 is 2, not 3."

>Don't be curmudgeonly. Thoughtful criticism is fine, but please don't be rigidly or generically negative.

>I would way rather have Sol all day every data, consistently, than a slightly better Fable for like, 1 prompt every 5 hours, and only when Anthropic decides to not treat me like a cyber criminal.

I have used Fable heavily on the lower Max plan and you are really exaggerating the limits here. I've had many multi-hour sessions with Fable on Max.

It took many many many turns for me to have the model even acknowledge that the fake elector scheme was actually a thing. It's very much primed to answer vaguely when it goes against the current political ideals of its owner.

Giving people context is gatekeeping now?

One, as bad as it is, has its biggest critics live and speak out freely. The other silences, imprisons or kills them.
