It's true that the legislation provides some protections, but that's based on "active time" which doesn't include the time returning to "hotspots" where you may be assigned orders.
As an example, if someone in a residential area that's 10 minutes from the nearest restaurant orders a delivery, you are "active" while picking up the delivery and driving to the customer, but not for the 10 minutes driving back out of the residential area. It's a bit of a waiting game.
Also, I can tell you from personal experience that most customers are not tipping. My average tip per order (across 1300 orders) is between 50 cents and 70 cents per order. If you are tipping on all your orders it's definitely appreciated though.
> Fuck DoorDash and their drivers.
I agree with fuck Doordash, but not sure why you have so much animosity towards people working this job.
But a lot of times, you also need to think about executing programs from within a script, where you don't have this prompt. Thus, it's invisible state.
I think the concept you want here is "just following orders" or even "mindless compliance", rather than "malicious compliance". Malicious compliance refers to a sense of justice obtained from technically following rules, when you either disagree with the rule or the authority, in a way that is counterproductive to the goals of the authority.
I don't understand why you think they should wait in line in restaurants where people order at the counter, to pick up their order which was placed online. And if you want to see this, you should be supporting legislation makes them proper employees who get a proper wage based on their time working.
It's something I struggle a lot with (and I'm currently unemployed)
Are sun and moon icons for dark and light themes a lifestyle thing too then? Maybe I want dark theme when the sun is out or light theme in the middle of the night?
In all seriousness, as a person with non-24 sleep-wake rhythm disorder[1] it's not terribly uncommon for me to be going to sleep mid-day, but I don't think designing with pragmatic assumptions about lifestyle in mind is unreasonable (as long as it doesn't create accessibility barriers)
