This is an engineer perspective.

Reading/studying is only really about learning what knowledge exists so you can find it and employ it later in the service of building something.

Trying to memorize many specific details or formulas or algorithms at the expense of a broader knowledge map is suboptimal.

But for science, medicine etc this may not be the case.

The article is not fluent, it's difficult to read and written in broken English. Possibly not written by AI? Understandable enough but difficult and weirdly painful to read.

Definitely don't rely on AI to substitute for a lack of fluency.. . Or maybe do.

Seems like excessive government overreach. Even California hasn't gone so far as to ban mere hiking as far as I'm aware.

Failures by the government in forestry management and firefighting shouldn't be used to restrict people's ability to enjoy nature and use public land.

They still need to solve the root problems... Lighting starts fires too and they can't outlaw that.

Pretty clear that OP signed away his shares and ended up with only 1% of what they were worth.

Presumably they told him his shares would be worthless anyway an if he didn't take this "great offer" it would expire when he left the room and he would get nothing...

...and he fell for it.

It wasn't dilution of other things people are talking about here... those things happen but this guy straight up just got had.

So sure equity is worthless... if you sign it away.

My first thought was who could possibly say with a straight face that we are close to super after the spectacular failure of AI to scale up with more compute.

Oh right, Sam Altman.
