I feel its probably unreasonable but I do get a sense of stolen valour when I click on "I built..." and can immediately tell its vibe coded.

Slack and hangouts were both functionally worse than discord for a long time. I haven't used them in quite a while, but even if they have now caught up, network effect is already in play.

Also is slack free? I remember some debacle about their free tier being pretty poor.

The whole debacle in UK higher education is the governments own making. It demamded universities operate more like businesses, their funding has been hugely slashed in real terms over the decades, and now its shocked when they priotise sources of income over educating british nationals? The government could fix this mess in a myriad of ways but levying a tax against the unis is not one of them. This is kicking a dying horse.

Im certainly a bit biased as I work in higher education, but I also see first hand the sorry state of affairs successive governments have left their golden "world leading universities" in.

The government here seems annoying about people coming here on a student visa and then transferring onto another kind of visa after studying. Isn't this the point? Dont we want to keep the people we just educated to become positive members of society? No matter your personal feelings around immigration policy, arent these the exact immigrants that wed want?

Universities are already on their knees, the international fees plug a gap in lack of funding, can already see the struggle with the immigration changes. If the government wants to kneecap unis income levers it also needs to fund them.

It is still physical force. If I grab and restrain you randomly in the street you're going to call it assault still. And this is good, we should carefully consider the different levels of physical force that are acceptable in different scenarios.

Not sure if the parenting is so much motivated by the paying of school as it is the prevailing socio-economic conditions. Think its a fair generalisation that those who can afford private school live comfier and more stable lives than a working class family with a child in a comprehensive.

D list celeb got shat on in public and the gallery took a load of real life shit. The only chronically online stance is thinking the general populace is positive about AI.

I work in IT at a place where the vast majority of activity is not IT related but we have a huge number of systems. I regularly interact with a wide range of disciplines. It is in education sector so it may be somewhat skewed, but I see very little positivity about AI from anyone but us developers. It gets used loads, but even those using it to speed up documents, reports, comms etc are generally negative about it.

A game is not a website though. The ability for subtle bugs that absolutely devastate user experience to slip through is already obviously present. Looking forward to when fixing the game breaking bug means some poor sod picking through absolute spaghetti. Oh wait they can just chuck the agents back at it and tell it to make no mistakes this time.

"They were the ones who caught the mistakes that no spell chequer could."

Nice, good article lol. I appreciate a joke or two in a readme but totally understand the annoyance, I think forgetting to actually say what the software does is super common as well though. Often trying to figure out if something found on github will actually solve a problem only to be met with a list of install commands.

Tbf, support cloudflare's general refusal to censor what they host.

Their near monopoly is very bad for the health of the net, and I'd never use them for that reason, but if they are going to have a monopoly I'd rather they were pretty liberal on censorship. I know there are examples of deplatforming from them, but by and large their stance tends to be without legal intervention all is fair game and that's certainly better than enforcing their own morality.

The original article uses right wing extermism as an example, but the description of the system translates to "constitutional fidelity". So its probably safe to assume that this will be looking for any kind of extremism that could be anti-constitutional. Always important to remember from a german perspective that it was the communists and socialists that held the line of resistance and were some of the first to be oppressed during the rise of the nazi regime, whatever your views on the politics are.

When did my car being able to navigate become a critical function?

I mean I think were agreeing, in a body of text this size I'd expect to see the dramatic short sentences and standalone dramatic sentence maybe one or twice. This article they are constant. They're great devices were used appropriately, but when the whole body of text reads like it it's awful.

Not asking anyone to stop using those writing devices, just begging for any work to not be exclusively dramatic devices. And when you read a piece of work like that its generally a child or AI lol.
