Maybe if we had some sort of non-profit corporation with a mission to ensure universal access to non-commercial, high-quality educational, cultural, and other content and telecommunications services.

Perhaps something like that could be expanded upon and utilized for government communication to the public?

I believe the jump to 725k is to account for the 1% figure they are using.

Well put. And to round out the nomenclature for those that are curious, the corollary here is that it can now become much more quantitative.

So you're admiting you were trolling?

Parent comment said they end up "...pass[ing] it off to QA."

Edit: suppose that very well could have been tongue-in-cheek.

Side note: as someone who has been interested in programming for a while, but didn't end up in a software dev track in life, it's been pretty wild watching the ride you all have been going on lately. I used to be pretty bummed I didn't get to do that kind of work for a living, but lately I've been feeling more and more like I dodged a bullet.

Not that I don't have my own AI-related junk I have to deal with where I did end up, of course. I think most have.

I didn't see any mention of politics in the comment you're replying to.

One can dislike various aspects of a person without it being politically motivated.

Yes, based on my personal experience, it is much more harmful than helpful to the majority. Most seem to be determined to completely replace their need to think, as opposed to just supplementing or augmenting their thinking with AI.

> I do hope you see the irony of accusing people of armchair psychology and then hitting us with the five stages of grief.

I just want to point out that those were two different commenters.

Not to put words in their mouth, but my question would be: isn't that why movies are more expensive than an audio track? Not to mention that movies have "concerts" much more regularly and in many places at once where they make money, no? I don't really have an idea of the exact economics of it all, so these are genuine questions.

From what I read, it just got re-branded, not discontinued.

> I could chargeback my credit card but I imagine I'd also be permanently banned from Amazon - so instead I accept they've just stolen $1000 from me with no recourse...

To some this could imply they wanted to continue doing business with Amazon, so accepted the theft. Not losing access is, in a way, continuing to do business. Not sure if that's what they meant, but I can see it being interpreted as such.
