Not exactly the same model, but I really like the X280. I've bought a couple of refurbished X280s to give to friends and family whenever they need a working laptop for light office/internet/email use. Really nice laptops, super lightweight and durable, yet incredible affordable.

Reading this, I am immediately reminded of Al Bundy in Married with children, isn't he An American hero quite similar to Arthur Dent? Other than that I always thought of the Show King of Queens as similarly depressing, ... would be curious how that fits into the narrative of American heros

I think it is important to stress that both, color _and_ shape should be visible distinctive, and as you say it is important that the color palette is chosen in a way that even if the color does not stand out for a the color-blind person, the contrast stays visible.

Making everything monochrome is surly not more accessible, because there sure are people who find it easier to distinguish by color than shape.

I have resisted that move for a long time, but this year I moved to using a hosted and managed nextcloud instance for all my file syncing needs.

It is run by a small local webhosting company, at which I've been a customer for my whole adult life (~20 years)

Sometimes you get cron jobs with a cheap webhost, so you would not even need to maintain a cheap VPS

Most of the currently popular frameworks follow the pattern of organizations that make the case that "Designers" and "Programmers" need to be strictly separated.

But how to retrigger all jobs that are loading a plugin, when the plugin is updated?

This is a very simple principle, yet I see it constantly violated in big projects with plenty of redources. Even though it seems obvious, it takes a lot of effort and arguing to keep these kind of interfaces small and effective.
