>>The social justice / millenial part of me hates this for being funded by high frequency trading, of all things. What a colossal waste of resources.

HFT makes the market more efficient, just like the AI eliminating jobs makes business more efficient. It's been numbing watching HN gladly sacrifice it's own to the altar of AI over and over. There is no moral high ground.

Personally as a retail quant, it's really rewarding to build models that extract edge from the market using the very AI tools that have eliminated all hope of ever re-entering the tech-field absent being an entrepreneurial founder.

Similar principle applies to open source or any other creative endeavor put in the public domain.

I'd argue the trust was always relative. Witness what happens when you are hired to untangle the buggy mess that was left by the previous "senior" engineer. Sure there was trust when they were in charge, but based on the code they wrote, they didn't actually understand anything they were doing.

Impressive work. Curious to how many hours of labor what the development path was. Several man-years possibly?

> That is gambling, not investing. And you can lose lots of money by gambling.

Most trading professionals would not call it gambling if you have positive expectation and a process.

Positive expectation properly and repeatedly executed over time is a business.

Would you say a casino is gambling by offering table games to customers?

For the uninformed, bypassnro was how you installed Windows 11 (anonymously?) and with full local control without a Microsoft account. To save a Ctrl-F:

    [Other]

We’re removing the bypassnro.cmd script from the build to enhance security and user experience of Windows 11. This change ensures that all users exit setup with internet connectivity and a Microsoft Account.

Everyone can say things that sound smart. When it comes to markets the only thing that matters is if your portfolio was green or red.

Take up trading, it will give you something to do, and afterwards you won't need to worry about being rich!
