Classic example seen all around Europe is partial privatization where it's often some state owned company that manages the expensive rails maintenance and unprofitable (but required) train lines while private companies get the profitable lines. This often leads to public opinion that trains are subsidized too much which leads to more decline of the services.
Another complication is that Japan is one country with one system where everybody speaks same language but trains in EU have to connect different systems together and it is hard to come to unified systems and laws around trains.
The AI clones won't easily change that unless they were exact 1to1. If it was that easy to get rid of Adobe the monopoly won't be there anymore as things like Affinity have existed for a while and are free. Affinity is in many ways even better version of Adobe suite, faster, more stable, allowing to be more creative. But the friction is extreme, because if you need to collaborate or be in any way part of the industry then Adobe is expected so you need it anyway.
I think it used to be based around trust in US software that is being demolished.
What I would see even more likely are requirements of no agent commits, use of only human written/vetted code under their name.
AI will alienate and depress us all to the point of not wanting to live.
They keep adding features and recently added scripting which was one of the last things that kept professionals from using Affinity. And you can see it in industry (atleast graphic design) even big names are testing how to switch.
