Politicians are lacking in EQ, not IQ. Higher IQs would make things slightly better while higher EQ leads to much better outcomes. Ideally, yeah, both are needed.

Silicon Valley is worse than average because they're mostly techies and techies are people that on average love things more than people and have low empathy. They also lean isolationist/libertarian and are the perfect victims for "bootstraps" mentality.

Google owns Google Books and a myriad other data sub businesses beside the index of the entire web.

For most of those Google is much better positioned.

Full slop, you mean.

SREs will be de-materialized and converted to a Docker image that will be run on Kubernetes, in the prod env.

The entire story sounds very weird.

Frankly, I've been dreaming since 2005 of having better single player AI than whatever garbage we've been building since at least 1995.

Actually, not even single player, I'd want to play Dota 2 with bots that are at the average human skill levels but don't give up easily and have, you know, manners...

Nobody learns to use an editor - or for that matter, learns anything - by figuring out a history lecture first.

People that do that are weirdos, and yes, I'm one. But I don't expect regular people to learn that way.

> Its only reason for existing is GPL freedumb nonsense that was popular back in the day.

These days we need more GPL, not less. We need AGPL and apparently, soon, AntiLLM-GPL.

In my experience routine trumps almost everything. And considering language learning, religion, accents, etc, routine probably trumps everything, period.

I've seen enough parents carting bored kids through supermarkets, while walking sullenly and silently, to know that some people aren't even trying.

> I also haven't gone grocery shopping since 2020.

Do you have regular groceries delivered?

Do whatever it takes to handle things, but for this:

> My wife and I BARELY have time to go grocery shopping

If you can, take them grocery shopping with you. One parent stays at home doing stuff, the other goes grocery shopping with at least one kid.

In my experience kids at least 12-18 months old LOVE grocery shopping.

Get a big shopping cart, put them in that special seat facing you. Keep it concise, don't shop for more than 1 hour per round. Talk to them, explain what you're doing, give them harmless things to play with (a carrot, a celery bulb, a bag of rice, whatever). Have a little fun with the produce, they will love random things, for example that weird looking tomato.

It becomes even easier as they grow a bit.

I'd argue that OP is directionally right and:

1. only some specific circumstances for regular kids

2. special needs kids

should warrant exceptions.

People still don't see where this is going.

TV had both 15-20 minute of ad breaks every hour AND product placement during actual content.

That's where we're going in about 10-15 years.
