What is even more crazy is that people believe we are now more "civilized" than this. That nobody would do such a thing in our time.

I don't know why they don't just adopt Pypy as a faster Python implementation. Just let CPython develop slowly as the reference and give support to Pypy. It is already much faster than CPython.

It was bound to happen sooner or later. People tend to forgot nuclear is old technology. We went so hard on nuclear in 1960s because there was no alternative, nobody knew semiconductors would be so disruptive. Nuclear reactors are huge (to be efficient), still not completely solved (we are finding new methods of cooling every year) and require extensive regulations to save ourselves from human errors. Solar is the opposite. Build it, use it, throw it away etc. And your biggest problem is the environmental pollution and energy storage. Much better problems than trying to make nuclear safe. And even the energy storage problem is getting solved slowly by pumped hydro.

That is not a great comparison. If you compare bandwidth prices from all places Cloudflare comes at the very bottom and Vercel/Render at the very top.

Same here with Brave on Android. I don't know why people take Cloudflare free CDN and place it behind such a strict firewall.

People are still using Arduino boards with USB-A mini B ports. At least for micro USB you can easily find cables everywhere. Hardware world is kind of slow in that regard. You can always go for ESP32 if you want though. Cheap and USB-C.

> there are over a hundred of them across every continent except Antarctica, and several of them ship worldwide, so there’s almost certainly one serving your region.

They forgot to mention 99% of them are out of stock.

Even if you want the GPIO the RPI Zero or Pico are much better options. If you want fast computation on top of that simply buy any other computer and send signals to the Zero or Pico for the GPIO pins.

What is wrong with having options? Even the ESP32 family already have C line for low power applications. No need to project Electron into everything.

I am waiting for the cure to cancer. Multiple AI CEOs have already said it is just the first step for AI anyway. Should be pretty easy.

I don't know how the general public can't see that AI companies are fueling this moral panic to attract more and more VC money to make their companies even more ridiculously valued. Every one of their public announcement is designed to create FOMO for investors.

It is actually more difficult because superpowers are not willing to spend unlimited money just to get ahead (like during Cold War). You can brute force a lot of technical problems by just using money (for example just one big expensive engine like Apollo 11). Nowadays nobody is willing to spend that kind of money for just one mission.

Both lead and lead free solder use the same chemical flux in their core. So you have the same problem with leaded flux cored solder. With the additional problem of lead.

Of course syntax matters in any programming language. That is like saying the alphabet and grammar does not really matter in English.

Because all these things require a grid, unlike on-site generators. Most grid equipment (specially high voltage transformers) are backordered and all companies have empty inventories. Unlike traditional companies these AI companies are deathly afraid of not getting to AGI first, so they can't wait.
