Is anyone observing the AI software dev convo from a sans wax poetic perspective? I dont think 9/10 people are capable here.

Our product security and engineering teams do the same thing to defend against the project managers - an 8am-2pm product sync every monday and friday. Its worked for years now.

The latest Vomero lineup, the Plus specifically was a MASSIVE hit in the road running community over the last year. Almost every member of my 100 person run club has a pair, some have 5+.

That explains why over the last two years Ive been able to buy almost any clothing from Nike and fits perfectly well when previously, as a big, muscular guy Nike was pretty much no-go for clothing. Huh.

Just today I giggled and reminisced over the old XDA Developers Nexus 7 posts about LTE and wifi calling hacks…the many few of us worked hard to only rely on a tablet! Ironically, there is now not a second of my day in which id find a folding phone useful or logistically feasible. Alas…13 years too late.

You always take the written policy win over thoughtful technical controls. Way easier for the whole org.

The use of the word “ideological” in text with a US Gov-anything byline is tantamount to a fart. Its whining “I dont like this thing but I cant cry like a child about it.”

I live around a lot of those people in SW Ohio who find themselves traveling to states like Louisiana for welding, electrical and general contracting work because the expertise isnt there. I have to imagine much of the same will happen and if anything they might reap rewards following construction. Regardless I would assume little to no relevant expertise exists there at the moment.

My next door neighbors’ tiny (>50 people) electrical company has been booking millions in lighting protection installation work across the east coast. Theyve made more from dc work in the last three years than the previous 20.

Until I got to the Forerunner 965, my Garmins would easily scratch. I have an Instinct with such a deep gash I cannot see the top 1/4 of the display. The 965 display is wonderful but I still have a couple minor nicks.

> the screen has not scratched

I believe this the least!

These remind me of the cyanogenmod days where youre rom was AOSP or CM based and nearly every variant was CM based.

Ironically I have recently transitioned to a TL role because my org has slowed senior IC salaries but keeps increasing management salaries.

I am in the infosec space and do a lot of reading, summarizing of code and a vuln PoC here and there in my day job. Over a busy month I may put out 400-500 LoC.

In my personal life, I am making tools to support hobbies. I typically tackle architecture and design myself and sanity check with an LLM, then Codex does all the programming work.

I'm more interested in making sure the apps I make have the content I want and functionally meets my needs than actually writing the code myself. Making fine detail tweaks are not something I need to do past review and pointing them out to to the LLM.

I had a similar path and never came back to JS until work forced me to learn. To me, it has only gotten more readable.
