Imagine a US House of Representatives passes a law that allows higher taxes for obese people. And someone would say: “lol it’s fake news, it will never pass the senate”. Even if it doesn’t pass the Senate later, it’s huge news now that it passed the House in the first place.

As I understood, this is a completely different thing from what we had so far (herdr TUI), fully incompatible - so technically the only common thing between them is the team and the name.

It doesn't see the sessions in my already-running remote herdr server, you cannot access the Herdr App remote sessions from your mobile phone (previously you could via SSH client like Termius).

A stack can grow arbitrarily deep (in practice, assuming 64-bit address space), but it grows only in one dimension. However, you can also have arbitrarily many stacks, so you can have a separate stack for every single thing that can grow in size in your program (by statically analyzing what variables hold data structures that could grow, and how many stacks at most you will need at the peak when program runs).

> But how does it do it? What tools does it use to that effect? I appreciate that this film remains relatively neutral/ambiguous, but what makes this unique from other documentaries that deal with ambiguous subject matter?

If you’re that interested in getting these answers, you probably should watch the film

> their cash register doesn't work, they can't record your purchase or calculate taxes

I say, if there's no electricity, nobody owes any taxes to this government.

> Whereas you take great care of your local community by even refusing to live around anyone not as well off as you

Yes, I want to choose who I spend time with and around, and I want to choose what people influence my children in their formative years.

I fail to see what’s wrong with it, especially if it’s also done on my dime.

> I would expect a majority of nouns to be according to the animate / inanimate split

Well, as I understand, the actual animate/inanimate split was there at least 10 000 years ago (or more)! And the language has gradually changed over the years until it's barely recognizable. For half of the period that passed we didn't even have written languages, and can only approximately deduce the words by tracing their common origins in related languages.

See how modern English has changed in 500 years from the earlier Middle English — as a non-native English speaker, I can barely recognize a few things, and it's otherwise completely unintelligible for me. Now multiply that change by at least 20x.

So how words are split between genders in modern languages - has very little relation to how they were before. For example, in modern Spanish, masculine gender is a fusion of Latin masculine and neuter genders. So technically if we say that in Classical Latin there was still a statistically significant animate/inanimate split between masculine and neuter genders - nowadays it's the same single gender in Spanish.
