I'm in Russia and I make just $5000/year as a full-stack web dev (4+ years). I threatened to leave, and they found 10 more people who work for even less. I tried to get hired outside of my country, but no one bothers to respond.

Using Vivaldi as my main browser since a few months ago. Tab grouping and tiling is great. The side panel is neat for checking on Skype without installing the app.

I didn't experience any slowdown, but not being able to drag and drop files from downloads is a pain in the ass. It's been brought up on the forums and left at that years ago.

For the record, I make $300/month as a hired software engineer here in Russia. I would prefer slightly better conditions, than no such opportunity at all.

As someone suicidal myself, for sure. Otherwise you're a part of the problem.

I still have a silly dream that one day Javascript will split the numeric type into 32-bit floats and ints by default, like Ruby does. I wonder how much of the existing ecosystem that would break.
