They keep on messing about with the UI and adding AI stuff, meanwhile performance and resource usage aren't improving, and basic features don't work properly.

Why is it that reorganizing the title bar every few months or making new button themes is more important than getting the IDE to properly detect the .venv folder?

Michelin makes tires, they originally made the star system to get people to drive to these places, thereby using up their tires.

I always thought it was a reference to human body temperature.

You need a radiator with a built-in electric fan, this will all but eliminate the condensation.

However it will not cool like an A/C unit, only something like 5°C reduction. This can be enough to get a decent night's sleep during a summer heatwave.

Yes, of course it would be better if the cars were designed in the EU as well.

My main point was that them being built in the EU wasn't something auto makers did out of the goodness of their hearts, or for some marketing ploy: it was forced on them by EU law.

I suppose that design requirements could be imposed as well.

It's not to brag, it's to qualify for state aid.

In France, if a car is not built in the EU, it won't qualify for the 6k€ reduction.

Anything over 2.5 metric tons should require a commercial driver license to operate.

There, problem solved.

When said application charges an exorbitant monthly fee, and is owned by a multibillion company, yeah it *is* pretty ridiculous.

I use it for a bit of everything: dev work (InteliJ), basic 3D modeling/printing (freeCAD, Blender, Orca), light video editing (OBS, Kdenlive), gaming (wine) ...

Could probably go with an Arch based distro, but the Ubuntu/Debian base is useful for the good compatibility.

Ubuntu LTS distros can need some time, yeah. A few months is not unheard of.

AMD typically starts adding basic kernel support before the hardware comes out, but full feature support is usually shipped shortly after hardware release. I suppose it's to avoid leaking specs before release?

But anyway if you want good support for new hardware, much better to run some sort of rolling release, like most Arch based distros.

Personally I run an Ubuntu LTS but with the latest mesa drivers via ppa, and am always at least a generation behind on the card. Much cheaper that way. Or at least it used to be...

There is quite a bit of evidence for edits made to OSM appearing on Google Maps shortly after.

I've personally noticed this for edits I've made to obscure, completely out of the way areas.

Just don't upload to Google. They'll take the data from OSM anyway, after some time.

They don't seem to have any problems cramming in ever more AI garbage down our throats.

Priorities!

> if GitHub is down

Surely you mean when GitHub is down.

As an aside, I thought it a bit worrisome that the move to Sha256 is apparently delayed due to GitHub dragging their feet on this.

Prompts can certainly be tuned to a particular model, where updating the model actually results in worse performance. This is perhaps less true today than a year or two ago, but we have seen this on newer models as well. Typically, the less specific the instructions are, the less it's a problem. But sometimes you really need to get into specifics to get good results. Area of work is code porting and translation.
