Not a user script, but the LibRedirect extension does most of that already

https://libredirect.manerakai.com/

I think it doesn't check whether the chosen instance is up before redirecting, but switching to another one if that one is down is a single click.

I moved to self hosted Vaultwarden (Bitwarden server reimplementation that's client-compatible). You can also directly run Bitwarden, but Vaultwarden is easier to self-host, especially OIDCwarden is nice if SSO is your cup of tea.

I don't like Bitwarden's UI as much as 1Password's, but at least it feels faster.

Hahaha this explains so much. I can really imagine how this might have the opposite effect from what they hoped for...

yes! and this is sooo weird given that Opus 4.8 or 5 producing this are supposed to be "smart" models – how far into the benchmaxxing do you have to lean to get to this point?

> …and it's fun. I'm enjoying working with Ox in a way that I'm just not enjoying talking to the 5.0 Anthropic models

hard agree. it does not really feel "smart", but the personality is super refreshing

yes, this seems sadly very true for me, too.

In some ways, it feel like I'd be "stuck" at my 2024 capabilities if I didn't push myself constantly, and I'm really glad for every hour I spent learning/applying new stuff before that, because now it feels way harder.

definitely worked for us, switching because of the insanely bad prose from Opus 5 & the current OAI pricing

I think this is great, because it prepares you for the Python coding style for now to in two years, in contrast to from two years ago to now, so the information stays relevant longer.

yes, it meaningfully reduced my happiness at work

just reading this comments made me despise the fact that I have to read this shit again tomorrow

It's really time to move to OpenAI...

For me it's less about understanding, it's that I have to read this "vomit" the entire day, every day. Coding used to be fun, using AIs to code was fun to me, too, but this dense, pseudo-jargon language with many repetitive phrases, uninspiring grammar, all while being super inflated in length just gets to me, so any solution is appreciated.
