Thanks for sharing! Was the post written by AI? It has the distinctive AI prose I see cropping up

This is a very smart move when you realize you have a commodity product. Get regulated. Be one of the only providers. Protected status

I absolutely agree. We need to start realizing what to stake. Here are not viewing. This is some kind of curious endeavors that will not affect us. All a part of these hacks occurred because the LLMs were told they were in a protected environment without Internet access when they could get access to the Internet, so that’s a direct failing on open AI’s part. There are a corollaries to both the financial industry and the bio engineering industry, and if something of this magnitude was to happen in these industries, they would absolutely be huge recourse an uproar

I agree with a lot of the article, but I want to posit that LLMs can encourage more human interaction by providing people with an information foundation that they might not have gained otherwise. What do I mean… In the past 2 weeks I’ve had human conversations about fleet management and flood insurance that were a direct result of being able to quickly explore these topics with LLMS first.

The article doesn’t state what driving the discrepancy between control tests and real world driving - for example is it that more people than anticipated drive for longer or end up depleting the battery and spend more time burning gasoline than anticipated?

The underlying reason behind discrepancies key and also is this discrepancy present in other types of vehicles

There are a huge amount of small everyday ‘paper cuts’ this could help with, that I would argue our current status state of technology has actually created and do not work as well as they should right now. For example, I have a WhatsApp group for my child’s classroom. It feels like there are constant barrage of events and dates that constantly change and move. I feel like I spend an inordinate of my time, reading and calendaring each of these events and reminders for what to bring and pack for school every other day. I’ve handed this off to AI and have looked back

V. Cool - thank you for building and sharing

How much of this ability to replicate is down to the openness of the science community and the paper on transformers being accessible by anyone?

There are a lot of people with domain expertise or know a workflow in their own business so well they know exactly what a solution looks like. And AI can build a solution today or will be able to in the near future - I have been blown away for example, by how lawyers are using AI to automate real work. I’ve seen it with my own eyes. Even if it’s not perfect and does not scale to 1bn users. I wouldn’t under estimate the potential here.

I am less bullish on this idea that every peeps will have ideas for great things to build

Is there anyone here who can comment if these advances are meaningful, novel and how extraordinary these advances are? (E.g most PHDs, top 10% of professors etc. )

In a lot of places, that golf course is the most beautiful piece of land around you, not just well maintained but lot of wildlife, birds, deer etc. so having that right on your backyard whether you golf or do not golf is a great attraction

Malcolm Gladwell did a great podcast on golf courses in prime urban spaces

https://www.pushkin.fm/podcasts/revisionist-history/a-good-w...

In some parts of the US it is certainly the case that golf courses are private and as a citizen you notice there are v. Few parks but lots of good courses. Many of the courses pay little in taxes so they’re also feels that there is a disparity between how the rest of society functions and golf courses.

Los Angeles is a v. Good example - huge urban sprawl - poor urban planning - few green spaces - amazing golf courses - as a runner I personally noticed I would be running around golf courses and not have any parks near me

It’s a neat idea - generally with these ideas it’s difficult to grow because outside of your core passionate audience, the reason peoel would care about this is money - and this type of extension would not return enough $ to the user for them to tell friends about it and recommend it. So you have a capped audience.

In a world of digital rationality, I’m glad teenage engineering are here to design the absurd and analog. It doesn’t make rational sense - and I think that’s the point
