> Or one is living in a country where all banks require a phone as the second factor for authentication.

Can you name those banks?

> Or living in a country where access to government services, public transportation and/or the healthcare system is now via smartphone.

Can you name those countries?

> And just try living in China without WeChat at all.

I can't follow.

Unpopular opinion: you don’t need a mobile phone, let alone a smartphone.

You are using it, because you were told you need it.

Same here, I don’t have to deal with rude delivery people and useless AI based customer service, plus I am not wasting my money delivery and services fees. On top of that I became a home cook!

I am pretty sure Steve is rolling in his grave. It's pretty saddening to see Apple losing its vision, what is making MacBook Pro different than other laptops in the market? Apple silicon? Not anymore. MacOS? Probably, but it's getting worse too.

I have had touch screen laptop (Dell Inspiron), and boy, it was such a horrible and useless feature. Screen is always greasier than gas-station hot dog.

Nevertheless, I'm pretty sure their stock is headed for a new ATH.

Awarding security researcher != Average Joe being able to jailbreak your device.

Hope you understand the difference.

I think we will probably see more and more restrictions on frontier models in the coming months. This is not what behemoths like Apple and Sony want to see.

Paradoxically, people are happier to buy things that they have control over, but boy, Apple loves to control every layer of consumerism.

Why would you need “AI” in a government office to begin with? Companies are heavily invested in it because of FOMO, but what are they getting from “AI” that’s so essential?

Make no mistake, using AI can be quite helpful and sometimes is necessary. What I mean by “AI” is the way Big Tech packages and sells every kind of automation.

It’s crazy how these criminals can get away with it just by paying money. Sure, $25B isn’t peanuts, but this money shouldn’t have belonged to companies like Meta to begin with.
