The other day I was able to click on Ghostty, then open Gnome Terminal, type a command and run it before Ghostty had finished loading.

Some of us still remember 2016, when we had a couple of cars sorta half-driving themselves, and Tesla, Uber and others promised we were only one year or two away from three million people in the US working as drivers being out of a job. And here we are, a decade later. AI is pretty amazing, but companies have a tendency to severely and comically overestimate and oversell it's capabilities, and underestimate the challenges.

We've also been hearing we're 6 months from AGI for about three years, and here we are.

"Now, here, you see, it takes all the running you can do, to keep in the same place. If you want to get somewhere else, you must run at least twice as fast as that!"

I've seen Slack and Claude doing this among others, it's turned into one of my leading red flags for untrustworthyness.

If anything, you're the one misinforming. I have no interest in soccer and every time there is a match I find out immediately because they like to knock down everything they see in the same general direction. I've even been in the situation of needing to do work for overseas companies in the evening and had to get on a VPN because they were just blocking random stuff and I couldn't install some dependency because the repository was blocked. Last time it happened was last week. My non technical friend was also complaining about some of her uni stuff being blocked recently as well. Maybe you're lucky because only use YouTube and Twitter and don't notice too many sites blocked, but the moment you go outside of big tech your chances are 50/50 you will probably come accross one or two blocked sites if you're not on a VPN.

The changing header is really distracting when trying to read your blog. Then it followed me when I scrolled and I just gave up.

It's the only reason I want to replace Tailscale with something else or look into self-host when have a bit of time during my vacation. They only allow login through a third party, which is a big no for me.

I must be getting old as well because I had to write it down in a piece of paper to do it, but I did get it pretty quick.

I've heard the meme that Omarchy is for people who would like to use Arch but don't want to read the documentation or follow the installation guide. Having a video and no text sounds like it would align with that target audience. If you want information and not a video you'd want to look at Arch instead, it has an excellent wiki and the best documentation of any OS I've ever used.

I was just learning yesterday that's exactly what GTA did on PS2, which I thought was interesting. (Not to belittle your point, just giving an example)

Exactly. Apple can register Apple because they don't sell apples so it's not misleading. OpenAI can't register OpenAI because they make ai but it's not open. They could call themselves Peaches, OpenWombat or ClosedAI and there wouldn't be any issues because those wouldn't be misleading.

Well, there are 864 other train sim games on Steam right now, so there are quite a few others in existence.

One mistake in non-fiction blog posts: not including a label or title for the pictures.
