I agree with you, but this is probably not true for Vitalik, who is basically an influencer. We should all close our computers and spend our time in nature and reading books, but this does limit our outreach possibilities significantly.

I guess the irony is that in this situation the IP rights trampling machine refuses to trample IP rights.

Is there a version without a paywall?

CVSS is a terrible proxy for vulnerability real world impact. Not to mention, that CVE with CVSS 10.0 in Bob's Flower Names library with 5 users is probably not that important.

Or even "Bob's Super Mario? Ah, great, the fun one". More fun Mario games for us.

Well, but the companies exist because people buy their products, right? If I buy pork from a farm, CO2 was technically produced by that farm, but it's on me.

>There is not a single KPI where the curve shows even the slightest sign of recovery

Ozone, I believe.

>I don't know why should a childless person give a damn about the future beyond their own lifespan.

Pretty wild thing to say. I assure you that almost every childless person cares about someone or something, and would like to protect it.

This is the kind of take that causes more traditional (including right wing, but also people from non western countries) look at climate activists as crazy fanatics. You are technically right, but I think advocating for childlessness causes people to disregard the whole movement as insane.

>My actual neighbor, gets a talk then a call to the local enforcement agency if it doesn't improve.

Is there a local enforcement agency for... tidy lawns where you live?

How? Biggest organisations and shared hosting providers had a chance to patch and protect their users. Everyone else will learn about the vulnerability the second patch comes out (this is also fixable with a configuration chance, so nobody needs to wait for their distro). This was the right approach and it worked.

Government has obligation by law to act. They can't just pull Google on you and ignore support requests.

More likely solution is that they will stop handling requests by internet and we will have to show up in person, like we did 20 years ago.

Technically "defect" still wins in this case, which is what makes the dilemma interesting.

I understand this as: he has a fixed rate $100/m subscription. Prices are what he would pay if he paid API rates.

>i essentially do not interact with the web

Grim. No point in writing blog posts or publishing anything for free if that's the future.
