They start waving flags around, voting for someone who will promise to "make things great again" all the while languishing in poverty and dying of fentanyl overdoses

>> because actually methodically studying users costs money.

you mean "actually methodically studying users is boring and requires competence"

these people only care about making pretty pictures, they dont care about the actual effort to deliver a good product.

this is an understatement.

i remember the studies used to design windows 95

nothing modern ux amateurs do can compare to the oldschool HCI professionals

You're missing the point

> I feel like all "non-inner-circle people" here are taken for a laugh. OpenAI and these security companies sat on this for 2 months, decided for themselves who gets access to an early fix, and then leave the rest out to dry

Had they just kept this between themselves and the vendor this would've been effective.

Instead they selectively released it to various parties one of which promptly leaked it.

This is exactly what should have been expected

Either it's 100% silent or it's out there

You don't seem to understand how this works

An exploit can only "leak" if it's a private 0day used by APTs.

When warnings are sent out it has already been a public fact. Keeping some kind of dumbass embargo is just pointless theatre

You know, if you. Built your houses out of brick with proper insulation you wouldn't hear your neighbors playing music when living in detached single family homes.

Why Americans insist on living in fcking plywood shacks is beyond me

This is essentially why HOA are mandatory for issuing zoning permits to developers. It's a easy way for municipalities to disavow themselves of having to provide basic infrastructure like water and sewage lines

This is on its way out and is being replaced by "Pan-European Public Procurement Online"

Yeah my charitable interpretation is that it's all just a thin veneer over your main argument which is "kill the poor"

Buddy, I can deprive you of several days of sleep, put you under severe emotional duress and have you experience a psychotic breakdown. Are you seriously saying you yourself should then be locked up for life?

They haven't "handled" the problem. Drugs are still as plentiful and cheap as ever there

In Bangladesh someone can put up a plywood shack somewhere and call it their home

Anyone living in a tent city would most likely not only survive but thrive there
