You've continued to use a service for a "few years" while it provides you with rotten fruit?

Discussion of Linux has been forbidden on /r/opensource because there's AI generated code in it.

"How dare you make a claim I don't agree with. Your opinion should be flagged and hidden from the view of the public!"

It's like you custom designed your post to make his exact point.

I don't like how information is siloed in discord but making this change retroactively is dangerous. And the option to opt out is only useful to those who know about it.

Leading off with "they made me see a boob once" to demonstrate how evil they are is so funny.

What makes Deno more suitable for this than any other runtime? It's just executing JS code right? I wouldn't think this would leave any meaningful fingerprint.

Does it need to work offline? Seems like a niche use case.

I can't understand it. Clearly someone cares because like you say the comments are always upvoted. But why anyone cares I simply don't know. It just feels like attention seeking behaviour to continue posting it.

No. I don't want to stream a video from some dude on a mobile connection heading into a train tunnel. There's simply no upside for me.

With no end in sight to the increasing cost of storage I can't imagine a worse time to put the burden of video storage onto users.

Even forgetting that issue, the last thing I want is to use some unknown, unpredictably changing residential connection for my videos. Google has invested in a powerful edge network so they can server my videos lightning quick.

One of the things I admire most about Basecamp is that they are a bootstrapped, profitable business. There's no shame in running a business this way. The world would be more resilient if more business owners grew sustainably instead of soaking up endless invester funding and losing money year after year before enshittifying in a desperate attempt to repay their overlords.

Whether it's illegal or not is irrelevant to the comment I was responding to, which incorrectly claimed "He didn't manage to sell them. Everyone hates the tariffs".

He campaigned and won with tarrifs as one of his main policy points. Voters favour them. Americans get tarrifs because Americans want tarrifs. Deal with it.

He campaigned and won on tariffs. A plurality of Americans favor them, evidently.
