Have you considered that it’s convenient?

It’s not, but the commenter you are replying to wants it to be

You just need to follow this to the logical conclusion. They’ll ban using your proposed method, people will switch to VPN and other modern methods and to combat people still accessing the forbidden internet they will need DPI and TSPU-like devices

This is just laying down the ground work for Russia-style deep packet inspection. “We don’t have a capability to censor the foreign internet, so we need measures to cut off the violating sites from our side”

Yes, you are of course technically correct, the best kind of correct. I think you are describing a nightmare, brother. You are describing hell.

> Have you sent them your remixes and asked if you can release them?

You have no idea what you are talking about. If something’s technically possible, it doesn’t mean that it is possible in reality or that people haven’t tried what you propose.

You know who also wants to avoid a copyright lawsuit? Me! I remixed some music and would like to show it to the other people. Too bad that if they like it, I will never ever be able to monetize it or will even have to delete it.

While we are at it, I’d also like Kurvitz, Rostov, and Hindpere to make another Disco Elysium game.

While we are at it, I think Sci Hub is the greatest invention of the modern science and many scientists would agree - you can just look up how many papers thank Alexandra Elbakyan and her efforts.

While we are at it, I’d love if companies could use each other’s discoveries to speed up tech advancements rather than hoarding patents.

Have you heard about patent trolling? Is that a good system that encourages good and moral behaviour?

I could go on. You paint such a black and white picture - copyright is good because tech giants bad - I can only assume that you are driven by blind ideology and not what’s actually good for us as peers. Ask yourself what’s better for common good

You are following the logic to its natural conclusion and I find it infinitely better for the discourse when it’s spelled out like this vs vaguely pointing to a set of other concerns without concrete proposals!

I’m not asking you to solve it. Just curious what are the solutions that Anthropic can do right now from your perspective. The concerns you have are pretty well-defined, so the solutions for them must also flow naturally, I think?

How would you prove this? What if the product was not intentionally designed to be engaging but ends up being more engaging than TikTok?

> Turns out "winning back trust" doesn't have anything to do with any actual concerns people may have re: employment, electricity prices, stock market bubble, intellectual property, scams, cybersecurity, environmental issues etc

No snark here from my side, just curious about your vision - which concrete actions by Anthropic could improve trust for the concerns you listed?
