ITT: people have no fucking clue how drug development works.

It’s always great when someone who doesn’t have a clue what they’re talking about decides to pipe up.

No it doesn’t. They are hand waving away a 70Bn loss which is in every possible way an operating loss other than name.

They paid for their compute in equity in the company, not cash. Therefore their losses don’t show up as cash. I don’t understand how people are this gullible.

It’s per unit of bullshit. No one knows what the true cost of Anthropic’s compute is because of circular financing.

lol yeah if you completely discount the actual amount they paid for that compute which is hidden in the 70Bn of debt which is waved away as a non operating loss, sure.

If I was selling dollars for 50c and Nvidia, alphabet and Amazon giving me dollars for a piece of my company, my revenue growth would be the same. That’s what Anthropic is doing.

who gives a shit what Jack Clark thinks? I’d be shocked if anyone at Anthropic did. In an industry full of grifters and leeches you’d be hard pressed to find a bigger one.

No it doesn’t. Everything comes back to whether the fundamental business can ever be profitable.

So far not a single company has ever demonstrated that.

Even if demand is through the roof which it seems to be, it doesn’t matter if every dollar they sell costs them more than a dollar.

it doesn't exist. Anthropic overtook OAI as the most unprofitable company in human history

they are literally burning billions of dollars and can presumably keep doing this for a while. Taking a trivial amount of additional financial liability to launder their reputation wouldn't meaningfully improve things.
