Not to mention the possibility of 4 competitors popping up over night.

Software engineering isn't unique, if this is true then it's 99% of all white collar work. Those same software engineers are going to help automate every other job on their way out.

Not if we get run-away inflation ;)

With Reverse Engineer Anything local hardware becomes a liability for MS. I expect we're going to start seeing streaming exclusive titles before streaming becomes the only way to play. This depends on if REA affects their bottom line, but even if it doesn't it becomes another reason to stop selling consoles at a loss and start charging 24 to 40 cents per hour. The next Xbox could be an optional $200 streaming box that comes with 100 free game hours.

This 100%. All the layoffs started before AI. High interest rates means businesses can't afford to take risks. Our entire economy is based on easy money from cheap debt. The tech layoffs are about being able to pay for AI whether that's paying for data centers or tokens.

I expect AI use to cause an increase in output, not a decrease in employment. At least right now. In TV and Film it would translate to more content that was too expensive to film before. If your business is making movies and then suddenly the market is flooded with fast and cheap movies, then you're going to make more fast and cheap movies too!

With Reverse Engineer Anything it will be only a matter of time before it's the only way to play!

"The intended application isn't for aircraft carriers this time, but rather for construction projects in remote, cold areas where conventional building methods aren't easy to apply – like the Arctic and Antarctic.

With no concrete or steel required, and with ice and plant-based cellulose as the main ingredients, this could be a building material with a low carbon footprint that's also biodegradable."

At what point does most commercial software shift exclusively to server-side rendering or streaming? Are we going to be vibe coding GTA 6 by January 2027?

If you look at how different reasoning levels can easily exceed task cost of sonnet 5.5 you will see that you will basically never fall into that under 100,000 token threshold. I mean maybe you can choose low and do a basic summary task, but then you could choose something much cheaper instead. I don't know what Anthropic is thinking with its dumber models.

1) you can parallelize the request 2) since a structured output is still just text then every previous property of the structured output effects subsequent ones

I don't think there is any actual evidence that it was a broken test tube because she would have started on prophylactic antibiotic treatment immediately.

Luckily you need to be in close contact with someone already very sick to catch it. It's not silent transmission like COVID. But maybe there is something different about this outbreak?

5 years ago everyone knew that human thinking was the last thing to get automated. Now everyone knows that physical labor is an impenetrable fortress against AI.

The hardware is already there waiting for the right model to direct it. If GPT 7 or Claude 6 is a true AGI we'll be months away from the same type of blue collar automation. The fact that the models are already building with blender demonstrates a growing understanding of the necessary spatial awareness and reasoning.

It's still not enough though, they're buying compute from SpaceX's colossus data centers.
