Sad to hear. What to add? For some reason I often pronounce Picard's full name in my head in the delivery of 'Q' in one of the episodes. I believe Q is delivering a package or telegram, and he says "addressed to a… John Luck Pick-urd?" in a mildly southern (American) accent. ;-)

Not taking supplements and live above 35 degrees latitude? Yes

Also old or dark skinned? Double yes.

Nice story, thanks. If you’re in the southwest, the CLASS super show is in the spring.

Richard Riehle, the friend in that episode passed on quite recently as well. Was also in Office Space and a fantastic satire about scope creep in projects for the military, of all things.

Not my experience. If there is a new answer it usually brings it to the top or near it.

The Trending (recent votes count more) feature was implemented years ago. Not perfect, but helps a lot.

He was right about this one. Never used the touchscreen on my old Dell except by accident, over the last decade. Shoulder gets tired holding up arms.

Wait until it is packaged for your distro. It should be vetted then.

If on Mac/Win, you should be used to trusting notarized apps after a cooldown period.

I think you hit upon what bugs me about file config. It's not the file, it is having to find it, find the docs, find the syntax, find the keys, find the values, etc.

If it was always in a standard format, it wouldn't be a problem. Something like dconf, without the poor design.

There are mature emulators for decades now, why go backwards? I guess there are a few tiny features that might be useful, and am open to them. But a new project needs to be strictly better, not two steps forward, one step back.

Ghostty is getting there though, and today is a milestone, not complaining too loudly.

Too big for the use cases above. iMac is not for “pro” use unless you’re a writer perhaps.

I love my 24, though a second monitor. Larger and you have to move your head around too much.

I somewhat agree, but one is lucky to have any work at all these days, which unfortunately takes precedence.

Funny, I won’t use a term emulator unless it has a good GUI config. Even SGI and Windows Command prompt had them in the 90s.

Also the konsole context menu and default toolbar are a mess.
