Fighting for effective resource usage and performance every day. Open for some random jobs, the worse ball of mud the better. Love to jump into tasks others are running from :)

From (yuck!) JVM/Spring/Kotlin, through Go/TS/C# to C/C++.

They’ll have it for few months and then make you pay to get the update.

They don’t accept vibecoded PRs and yes, it’s much easier to sit for a evening or two than to wait for maintainers to review PR in a month and wait another month or year for release. I’m not happy, but that’s the reality.

No mention of Rust in repo description and every 4 sentences?! Thanks, I’ll look at it! I didn’t know I miss those things until reading README ;(

I still think that AI is optimized first for the most overpaid jobs to reduce costs for the corporations and countries. What I don’t understand?

As long as workforce is needed cheap food will be somewhat cheap.

Germans hid plane engine factories underground with old (not so efficient) diesel generators running 24/7. 80 years ago, so the tech was leaner. Also they didn’t have issues with ventilation and even today if you don’t know where - you won’t see anything driving around.

Personally - I still don’t think I’m interesting enough to even point agents to hack me and the most important… the UI feel and UX. Even WhatsApp UI and UC is better than Signal and such statement can be seen as insulting.

Technically or socially? The second one is hard, the first one can be done easily - just require the passwords to be 14/16+ characters, multiple symbol domains and calculate tempo of input. Slower than 350ms between keystrokes - error message. Those who can type that fast already are using pw manager or you can just skip this 0.001%.

Still we are using it, because UX kills any other app and people that are (probably) behind it will cause almost no harm to casual, not-interesting people :)

And yes, I know that by default chats are not E2E, that phone number has way too many effects on accounts etc. Still, UX and agencies interested in important people are more welcome than data selling, ad-based companies.

The path they are talking about solves also a lot of problems, tho. They don’t care, because they’ll already live on Moon, Mars or will be dead.

I can’t imagine how agile apps and difficult environment you have to develop for to really feel tokens cost at implementation level. Meetings, research, PoCes and everything else eats thousands times more.

Thanks for that. Algorithm in article looks like always choosing first picture and I was curious what magic is there behind.

Saying that Go lacks in those is just showing how people are making software those days. It’s just terrifying.

As to Rust - we all, hopefully, agree that it’s great language, but not for some startup making websites or Mongo based, boring backends. It’s great for the stable, system level products.

I’m not sure how long it will take, but please - can we stop saying that annotations like @IHopeThisWontBeNull is a toy for kids and, having so many years of incidents caused by those and having LLMs to write and fix the code, we can rely on language and compiler already?

"no worries man I know what I'm doing" it’s first sentence in AI-using human mouth that tells me to turn around and run. I’m using models, I’ve built two whole projects without looking at more than 1% of code, but I’ve tested the interface and went through data on disk to verify the assumptions. Sad to see you have a FRIEND who behaved this way.
