The fascist leader needs to catch every single revolutionary group every single time. But a single revolutionary with a pistol only needs to catch the leader ONCE.

LLM comments for code are almost unfailingly completely redundant or impenetrably verbose bordering on word salad.

You know that recent social media trend where you name 100 women? Try naming 100 ffmpeg command line options.

I think I understand how to use about 20 of the command line options for ffmpeg and the companion utilities like ffprobe. Which is to say; I understand about 0.5% of the total options they provide and am likely a world leading expert in it. I'm mostly joking -- as in, overstating how many of them I understand.

Understanding ffmpeg borders on a specialization in itself. No big surprise that so many of the alternatives have fallen away over the years as people realize the absolute scope of that piece of software.

You can do quite a lot with a few MB. Don't tell every React behemoth on the web that we know this trick.

A locked door stops the lazy thieves, and the lazy thieves are the most common ones.

I've spent the last year working as an annotator/evaluator for DataAnnotation. All the frontier/flagship model providers use independent contractors for iterating on their LLMs. I'm not able to tell you which models I've worked on as a term of my NDA.

The system prompt seems plausible, but in my experience they are much much much much longer and more verbose.

You literally give them write access to your brain every time you interact with social media.

I've recently started going full send and using Ad-Nauseaum instead of simply using an ad-blocker. I've even started seriously boning up on Javascript to see if I can come up with some horribly hacky :click:hover:focus smokescreen sideload.

I'm sick to death of companies thinking they have any right to keep tabs on me because they think it'll make them a buck.

Your average white collar worker is certainly challenged, but I think the talent of neurodiverse people is going to become even more vital as average-ability people are more and more challenged. Of course, there's the saying: "A man is his own easiest dupe, because what he wishes to be true, he will generally believe to be true." and I'm neurodivergent, so it makes sense that my assumption that shit'll probably turn out okay for me is a foregone conclusion.

There's more options than those two; there's a reason that "spanner in the works" is a colloquialism. Humans become disagreeable when our status is challenged, and many people are very attached to the status of "employed".

I try to apply my layman's understanding of whatever law of thermodynamics states that a minimum of <x> percent of a reaction's energy is lost as waste heat; whatever you try to do in life, <x> percent of your effort is going to be spent dealing with people who are utterly incompetent. I try to apply it to myself as well; there's certainly many things I'm utterly helpless with and I want to account for the extra effort required in order to carry out a given task despite those shortcomings.
