As someone who uses Claude Code daily for work, I fail to see how they lack a real product. It provides tangible value on a day-to-day basis, something my workplace is happy to pay for.

The more interesting questions aren’t about whether they have a real product (they do). It’s whether they can defend that product from competitors, such that their future revenues can justify the massive investments made.

There’s a notable difference between saying those companies may crater, and predicting confidently that they will crater. The wording of your comment makes it seem like a foregone conclusion.

Is it? I’m curious what use-cases you think are the most relevant here.

Putting the ipad right next to the sink when doing dishes is the best I can come up with. Or maybe if it’s used in a business context, such as for salespeople doing a promotion on a sidewalk

That’s a rather binary and extreme way to see things. It doesn’t scale well if everyone acted like that.

It's better that people in these organizations feel they can speak up. If they have to choose between saying nothing or resigning, many would simply say nothing. And how is that situation any better?

You’re replying to a comment that is re-iterating that they are asking for the opinion of actual Trump supporters. Presumably you are not yourself a Trump supporter, and what you posted is not your opinion.

It’s frustrating seeing people’s genuine questions being mocked.

Thank you for posting the other thread, it's much more interesting to read through.

Your ability to sell that creation is certainly affected by the competition. Which affects your ability to put food on the table, so to speak.

LLMs are making code cheaper to produce, which in turn means people are running more code. There’s more code that needs to be audited for trust than before.

And so now we have a new twist on an old problem, and I think it’s going to get worse before it gets better.

I’ve talked with colleagues that have confirmed exactly what the parent comment is saying. They benefit from the external structure, routine, and separation of work/home life.

Some people just don’t want to work next to their gaming PC, completely unsupervised. Others live alone and don’t live near their friends and family. Both these groups (can) suffer from a fully remote environment.

Biological addiction is different from psychological addiction, sure. But both are addictive. And personally I believe both cigarettes and Meta products are damaging to a subset of the people consuming them.

Why only a subset? Because not everyone gets cancer from cigarettes. But, like social media, the probability of a negative outcome is too high to ignore.

It sounds like a mess, though comments about Godot are often vaguely positive. I appreciate you posting your experience about a limitation you’re running up against.

I can think of only one popular game of note that was made Godot, Slay the Spire 2. I’d love for more titles to be released to prove the engine can be competitive.

I get the same feeling. There’s a lack of polish and intentionality to it. It’s a cool idea and a nice demo, and there’s certainly a lot of buttons and features.

But it’s been laggy on my device, it’s visually distracting, and the UX doesn’t seem particularly well-suited for practicing Japanese.

The blog post does the “It’s not X, it’s Y” pattern a few times. It’s hard not to assume the post is just produced by an LLM.

It’s frustrating not knowing whether I’m reading the musings of a real person, or the output of an LLM.
