No, it’s not. It handles the keys, provisioning, DNS, NAT traversal, and a bunch of other stuff. WireGuard is a great technology - Tailscale is like a usability layer on top of it.

Zenoh (https://zenoh.io/) is a good alternative to DDS in many cases - it scales down to microcontrollers with most features still intact, but scales up to a routed hybrid mesh if needed.

It does move the schema enforcement out of the middleware layer, so it’s a bit different. But it’s now a first-class alternative middleware implementation for ROS2 as an alternative to DDS.

Well, it's not like the idea of the UK being a "major producer of oil and gas" is a feasible long-term strategy anyway.

So in other words… it’s not a solved problem. What point are you trying to make?

Any solution to a public health problem that involves moralising about how groups should change their behaviour is not only doomed, it’s actively counterproductive.

And doxycycline is a PEP treatment, not a PrEP treatment; respectfully you should probably take a step back from conversations where you obviously aren’t informed about the basics.

Is someone irresponsible enough to pursue causal, unprotected sex with random partners also likely to be responsible enough to visit a doctor proactively and comply with a prep regimen?

Anecdotally, very much so - at least among the gay/MSM community.

The thing is, people generally quite like having sex. That comes with some level of risk, which can be mitigated in various different ways - and PrEP is one of those tools.

All humans engage in some level of risky behaviour; evidence suggests that moralising about “responsible behaviour” or “self control” is rarely effective at mitigating that risk.

The evidence I’m aware of suggests that this method (on-demand or event-based PrEP) is broadly as effective as daily PrEP (though it’s not suitable for vaginal sex). I believe adherence rates are generally lower though, as people can find the instructions confusing, and it’s obviously easier to mis-dose than a daily regimen.

That was exactly the point OP was making.

Isn’t the point that significantly reducing the effort required changes the “is it worth it” equation?

Nigel Farage is (was) the MP (Member of Parliament) for the Clacton area. He is currently under investigation by the parliament's standards watchdog after reports that he failed to declare some donations and benefits.

If he’s found to have broken the rules, it’s possible he’d be suspended from parliament and subject to a recall election. However, he has resigned from this position himself instead, which means there will be a by-election for that seat.

It’s widely perceived that he has done this to distract from the investigation, with the view being that if he runs, then wins, a parliamentary suspension looks like a coordinated attack on someone who has just proven he has local support.

The major UK parties have decided not to field candidates in this election, claiming it is a distraction tactic and a waste of resources. This will leave Farage campaigning head-to-head with a man dressed as a bin, neutering any claims that this is a “real” election win (as well as generating plenty of entertaining news footage over the next few weeks).

I don't think this is actually your view, though. I can't imagine that you think harassment or violent threats are things that should have no repercussions.

But this is a Pi Pico, which is a microcontroller and not a Linux system.

Why did you choose to lie about this today? I'm genuinely interesting – this is trivially obviously not true, so what motivated this?
