I remember reading somewhere that we see an increased incidence of heart related ailments around the clock change, hypothesized due to this change in sleep patterns.

Is it more human to barrel forward filled with greed into extinction? I guess so, sadly

Are professionals in that field looking at that abstract and thinking its a good one? My scholarly background was in Geology and I remember a lot of messaging on making the abstract as simple as possible for the reader to grok the paper from that alone. Then, if they wanted to, they could read the rest in detail, where the prose may be more complicated (where necessary)

I'm pretty sure Julian Jaynes' work is entirely hypothetical and is thought if as just an interesting idea rather than actually having any semblance of truth to it... unless you actually believe the Greeks were amongst the first humans to truly emerge with consciousness which seems farfetched to me

Do you have children? If no, then how can you make this assertion? If yes, what or who is filling the gap that children fill for you?

Lice have no choice in their lot in the universe. Do you think if they had intelligence the ability to choose their lot that they would choose their current one again? I doubt it personally. You can detest their mode of existence whilst still having empathy for them I think

1. Artificial insemination without consent 2. Birth and all of its pain and potential complications 3. Removal of offspring as early as possible to repeat steps 1 and 2 and so prolong lactation 4. Mastitis

All of these result in suffering much worse than egg harvesting imo. Reluctant dairy eater btw

Shame you cant remember the source. Ive long since wondered if its actually more deleterious for my health to cycle to work in London due to air quality. I came to the conclusion that youre damned if you do and damned if you dont in the end, as in London at least, many of the tube lines have particulates higher than is considered safe

For me, I thought this until I tried spinning up my nix setup on a new machine and realised that a lot of my work patterns were being stored subconciously in my shell history. After using atuin with nix, each new machine became a carbon copy and I could spin up and instance and continue working seemlessly. There are also sometimes examples of things I do in work that I then want to repeat at home or vice versa which atuin makes easier
