I wish he wasn’t such an ass. Had a never meet your heroes moment outside defcon a few years ago. Not a friendly person and went from big fan to disdain when I hear his name.

I can take pictures and videos, at eye level and recreate travels. I don’t need to take out my phone and risk theft in dangerous cities like London when I’m visiting. I don’t need to mess with gloves when it’s snowing in Seoul. I can capture a cool walk in to a bar. So many good memories on these. Good for navigation and music to.

This tech is the prototype for the future. Phones are outdated input devices and will be replaced in a decade or two.

It won't even review a cyber security blog post I wrote. Absolutely worthless and pitiful guardrails.

Could you explain how much the US spends on its science budget compared to peers? It would help us really understand how much he's cutting it and harming our science base if we knew the numbers. For example if we're spending 50% less than EU or Canada.

It's so bad man. I'm pretty specialized in Windows antivirus/malware dev. Big AAA company leading their anticheats? ~200 and that's PUSHING the band. Generic midsize company doing half the work, 300+, at the big names? 700 TC. Remote, game companies want in person 5 days a week, half the pay, and don't have proper interview timelines. And this is for a really niche skillset, my friend with 7 years experience at 2k is making 120k as a C dev. Now part of it, is they don't believe they can literally just double their salary AND do a fourth of the work by getting out of that horrible industry.

The US has about a 50% higher gdp, while having 30% less population. Not only this, but the EU can barely fund it's military obligations, let alone others. You frame it as the US failing, but I think it's more the US winning since they didn't really lose anything. I would argue they gained, since now the EU and it's competitors are having to spend money to solve things like this, and the EU and Asia are far closer to Ebola outbreaks and spreading due to population movements than the US is.

Why should the US fund some people in Africa who can't control the outbreak of a very easily contained disease, instead of it's own people.

Not that you're wrong, but I think they were talking about it from a technical POV. I use deepseek to write exploits and red team("Malicious" code). It's alignment is under different values so it's nice to be able to at least swap between models for different uses.

I reported a bug in Apple Music on windows where it wouldn't update the audio output until you restarted it. They did a change in a few weeks where they made it update the audio output. Probably team dependent, but I was really amazed by how quick they changed it.

I think I can confidently say they are not visually intelligent at all.

If you were phrasing things to quantify intelligence, you would have a visual intelligence pillar. And they would not pass that pillar. It doesn't make them dysfunctional or stupid, but visual intelligence is a key part of human intelligence.

I think you're right. Only people trying to look up care about appearances, a millionaire CEO will reply with "sounds good - Sent From Outlook for Iphone", while the intern will write a full thesis level reply on why they need pto.

So I use C++ heavily in the kernel. But couldn't you just set your own allocator and a couple other things and achieve the same effect and use the actual C++ STL? In kernel land, at the risk of simplifying, you just implement allocators and deallocators and it "just works", even on c++ 26.

I think civilian casualties are acceptable and less than the casualties of innocents it would stop. War isn't pretty, people die. Not only that but civillians die from non ai war targets. The world isn't kind. But its better them than us. 1 American > 1000

I think you're assuming alot. And can't back up anything you claim and are trying to gaslight and attack my character with baseless assumptions to try and get a one up. You get your "sources" from assumptions. I worked the missions for decades.

Sorry you think my takes are "nonsensical". I think you're a naive child who doesn't understand the evil in this world that wants to harm us. Also, luckily for me our highest military leadership, the experts, agree with me and not you. Some random dude who has zero experience in this field and thinks he knows best.

I think you're severely confused about the problem set and whats involved. AI is very good at the problem set involved. I really don't feel like arguing further, I made my point with multiple people attacking me, and I stand by it.
