So there are no office politics or bad work environments outside FAANG? I've worked in both FAANG and run of the mill tech shops, and I vastly prefer the professionalism and less politics in FAANG environments. YMMV.

This is insane.

Isn't it inefficient for both mom & dad to take their parental leave at the same time? Wouldn't it be better to alternate like 8 months + 2/4 months so that atleast one person is available for basically a full year? Rather than both having to go back to work in 6 months.

Another same here. I didn't need to buy a console, a tv or even a controller. It feels like unlimited power to be able to access RDR2 on just another tab - 13 year old me would have gone crazy :)

Every four years today's high schoolers graduate college and start earning money. They don't witness the previous cycle and it's lessons, so they are impressed by the tech and don't realize the greater fool is them.

This is similar to a goal I had during childhood (very naive obviously) - that I should try and write a heartfelt essay addressed to all the terrorists around the world. And if all the newspapers published my essay on the front page, all the terrorists would, on reading it, put down their weapons and simply live peacefully from then on, with tears in their eyes as they reflected on their wrongdoing. I was sure there could be a sequence of words that would capture the hearts and minds of all oppressors and dictators around the globe. I just had to figure out what should it be, and then get newspapers to print it.

I sense a pattern in your complaints...by any chance do you also oppose abortion?

What country is that? I'm pretty sure it will have issues of inclusivity, you just don't see them because you're not affected by it.

I may be wrong, here are my impressions from 5 minutes spent googling - he already made his fortune in past decades. He is not really in the limelight, not building revolutionary stuff or going up against govt/corporate interests. He is pretty old and has already planned to donate major portions of his wealth already. Elon has signed the giving pledge too btw.

Basically he's got a lot of money. People will attack him no matter what he does, in an effort to redistribute his wealth. It's game theory, there are no billionaires who are liked.

This seems like a facetious word-salad. You asked if a poem that was written then burned, still exists. He answered that the poem exists in his memory. It doesn't make any sense to say, what is empirical evidence for order or culture or context. You can't ask him to redefine literally everything, before you accept his answer.

I agree with your overall comment thread, that you separate empirical stuff like engines rooted in reality, from values like the highest good. You conclude that a way to achieve the highest good is to be religious. But are you sure? It's certainly good for you, your family and the community around you. But is it the highest good for the world? Across all nations, all the wars that have been fought over religion - I'd dispute that it's still the highest good.
