I live in Punta del Este, we just bought a Geely and a BYD (both) coming from a VW ID.3.

For BYD, a Dolphin 2027 for 21K + VAT. Insane value, by extreme far the best price-perf vehicle in the country’s history. Has every single little thing you might want. For that size and price, at least.

Notably, Tesla is attempting to destabilize the local market, coming in at 30K+VAT for the Premium Model Y which is cheaper than the US, Europe and pretty much anywhere.

I still prefer BYD by far, and not supporting the “controversial fellow”.

At a 20x electricity to gas price ratio (depending on factors, but yes), EVs are key here.

You could have dared to check. But no, it's $2399 for those specs.

I let Claude do my job pretty much (with company approval) managing the entire stack of an app.

8hs of “prompt engineering” daily for a year or so.

I find Fable immensely better than 5.5 in their capabilities and results. Opus makes mistakes, a lot and big. Both on High Effort.

I just run Fable for literally everything including daily random use. Never run out of tokens on the 100 plan.

I read about this happening a lot here and elsewhere, and I don't get it. I buy many iDevices from Amazon, for example Apple Watch Ultra (1, 2, 3), and AirPods Pro (1, 2, 3). Most with AppleCare 2 years plan, some without. Also some accessories.

If the item is counterfeit, not only is sometimes the packaging/actual product identifiable by anyone that is actually a tech person, but lets assume that it's identical or whatever.

Unboxing?

When you open the AirPods box for the first time does the iPhone do that animation and say "Set up AirPods..." etc?

When you use it, does it sound at least kinda like the quality you expect from a 200 USD Apple headphone? Does Dolby Atmos work, the stems on both sides, the wireless charge on the box, the Find My features, live translation, transparency, noise cancellation? All of those features are present and working?

Going to settings -> AppleCare and Warranty should show the time of manufacture, of purchase, and the end time for the warranty (or if AppleCare, for AppleCare).

I guess I see a counterfeit passing my step 1: hardware, or maybe step 2: software (really shouldn't tbh? Apple should cover for this).

But the data on AppleCare and Warranty come from Apple's server. Even if they spoofed the serial number that would mean guessing a correct serial number for that same product type and spoofing the date of sale etc on AppleCare&Warranty.

I honestly don't see how this can happen. If the counterfeit is honestly so identical at that point it's just the same product, but even so.

I buy clothes, other tech stuff there. Is it really necessary to instill on me and hundreds of other OCDs the constant existential fear that everything we buy is actually an exactly identical and unverifiable impostor of the real item, but not actually real?

Edit: Just to clarify, I've indeed used warranty/AC+ on most of these items and all were real. For now.

At risk of getting defenestrated (or worse, expelled...) getting a permanent 25% increase sounds good over a 50% temporal increase. Imagine if this was your wage you were talking about, wouldn't you rather the 25% perm?

I use only Fable High as well. 8 hour workday, it does my job, straight up. I only supervise. Mostly frontend and in particular, mobile, where Fable (Claude in general) is quite better than the competition, in my opinion of course.

I also use it for managing a company's website separate from my job, and my own website. And for daily studying of an unrelated university career + daily personal use. For all the ones in the current paragraph I use Opus 5 xhigh.

I don't think I've ever gotten even to 50% of the (currently augmented) levels. A 25% permanent increase is good in my books.

I mean, what? I just got the memo that we're in operation Complain and Destroy. This is horrible! I will now go buy my Torch&Pitchfork two-pack for 17% off.

Hm I guess that makes sense, if there is a CSAM "fill rate" in the clearweb of X images per unit time, and also assuming a "remove rate" that is approximately X then there will always be a "rolling buffer" of around X images constantly (which would change in its content every unit time, but always be there in terms of quantity) and that's probably what the algorithm picked up.

A question I haven't seen asked here (and maybe I am ignorant) but, dooesn't this kind of content exist exclusively in the dark/deep web? I thought CSAM in the clearweb was finally 1000% eliminated.

This is quite the proposition. You think that the average person commits a legal offense at least every 2 days?

What examples are you proposing? If you count speeding, sure I guess.

Police should just execute the plan they already had prepared and planned (I think it was a US federal agency) of releasing massive amounts of CGI CP to the dark web, absolutely flooding the market to such an extent that consumers can’t realize which is which. Which, at the same tine, makes it pointless for someone to pay for it when the “fake” one is equal and legal, and more in quantity. Also even if your fetish is so grotesquely immense that it has affected you to the extent that you need the REAL REAL one, the seller will probably just resell you one of the police fake ones for 0 risk and profit off of you being a dumbass.

There’d be 0 reason to produce or share real one anymore or even sell it.

Important thing, you can generate CGI or AI images without them being trained specifically by the thing you want.

Like you need banana cake just train them with bananas and also cakes. The equivalence of what “bananas” and “cakes” are for this argument, are left to the reader of this comment, who I assume intelligent, as I think it’s gross and unnecessary to make it explicit.

For the same reason as has already been cited on this thread, that is the same argument as videogames violence etc.

Do you not have any kinks?

I have a fair amount and the ones I like in porn, I don’t like in real life. The ones I like in real life I don’t really like in porn.

So, specifically concerning your first sentence, which in my opinion is intended as an argument, even though it’s just a question and doesn’t offer any backing, the answer is no.

I agree and know this, it's more about how they are making promises they cannot keep. If Democrats ever get a majority in Congress again, and don't do it, however...

But espionage is a Federal charge, which is currently under a execution stay, as has been for the past 2 non-trump decades.

Will Biden ever follow through on his promise of abolishing the penalty? Possible campaign topic again.

I have one too. It is useless considering the range is less than the maximum possible distance in a mid sized house.

When she escapes I open Find My and I generally visually find the cat with my eyes before the phone even picks the signal up. It keeps the "Get closer..." and only actually shows the arrow when I'm like 5 meters from it.

I have iPad iPhone Mac Apple TV Airpods, more stuff and a bunch of Apple services. Honestly my most disappointing Apple purchase.

In case it matters, phone is 13 Pro.
