The technical term you’re reaching for is an ontological primitive

My three Sony Bravias from 2010 are still going well - LCD 1080p, no screen wear at all (a later Sony I bought ~2017 has already worn to buggery)

Not sure if there’s even a used market for older TVs, though

Reminds me of the Dufour map of Switzerland

https://www.swisstopo.admin.ch/en/dufour-map

I still think it's by far the greatest map I've come across throughout history: given both the limitations of the time period and the painstakingly consistent hachuring. It's just immaculate

I really miss checking model assumptions…

Also our most successful rugby league team’s name was given as a derogatory put down: “Rabbitoh”, which was seen as a poor sales person flogging rabbit meat for money

South Sydney being a poor area, yielded the South Sydney Rabbitohs

Anecdotal but my partner had her gallbladder out a few months ago (started to affect her pancreas —- was a bit worrying for the doctors)

The doctors said gallstone formation can occur with rapid weight loss

She was (and still is) on a GLP-1

No symptoms post gallbladder removal

Compared to what we had in 2016 with RNNs, this is effectively “AGI”

I think we need to keep in mind that medical and pharmacy mistakes are still extremely common

Recently my partner received a prescription with instructions that were over the LD50 (we caught it as it was obviously too high). We reported it but it was likely the case of the clerk simply hitting the wrong button and not double checking the resulting sticker

I’d be interested to see the AI transcription failure rate compared with existing medical/pharmacy rates

TSMC US federal plant funding was under Biden not Trump (CHIPS act)

Trump did do the initial deal though, but TSMC had to cough the money up for that

TSMC wouldn’t put tens of billons of dollars in irreversible investment just to virtue signal, the scale is too large

You can’t “undo” a fab

I assume they mean same t/sec as a SOTA cloud model

I assume they’re referring to Fable’s guardrails?

Yes they’re not related and are much more humane imho

No Orcas, good rehab program, seal exhibit is good (no true seals), Polar bears are a bit sad though

I did the seal diving experience which was great - mostly disabled California sea lions and NZ Fur seals (which do well in captivity)

In wealthy parts of the US, maybe

The vast majority of the world is nothing like this

From Scotland to Tasmania, most courses congregate around already wet and mostly sand/loamy soil (largely unusable for other purposes without major construction)

I agree with you for artificial American places like TPC Scottsdale or Wolf Creek GC etc

Is the Lake course as good as I’ve heard?
