This is what the internet is for, thank you.

Same experience here, it worked great. Really more of an advertisement FOR claude rather than a takedown.

This is cool. Makes me wonder what could be done to foster the friendship aside from food. Are there any sorts of games/activities one would could play with a corvid solely for mutual entertainment? And would the bird think of it in those terms?

Really just 5 if you don't count the author's own book. Strange article all around.

I read the first thesis and saw this section on modern civic engagement:

"Consider the nested and divergent forms of literacy required for a 19-year-old trying to participate in the democratic process as an informed citizen today ... they cross-reference short-form video analysis, parse hyperlinked primary sources, evaluate the credibility and rhetorical posture of algorithmic feeds, and weigh the consensus within a comment section"

which seems like a huge stretch. This may be "literacy" in the sense of being "computer literate" but I see very little connection here to actual literacy as in being able to read. First of all short form video is not reading, full stop. "Parsing hyperlinked primary sources" COULD be, but is that really happening? Most of these feeds are just full of talking heads reacting to other talking heads. The only reading going on is the last point about comment sections, and I think the comparison of that to reading a book only makes the impression more depressing, not less.

Surely "naan" would have been a way better transliteration choice than "non", right?

I haven't even been to Japan yet and this feels nostalgic haha. I can only imagine how it feels to those who are more familiar with it.

Great little game, thanks! I found I'm terrible at the vowel heavy words like audio and ideal, interesting.

And just wait til you hear about the goblins!

Agreed. There should be a subset of Betteridge's law: if a headline states that you need to do something, you don't.

Fun and helpful little game, thank you! I did find the last world to be a big jump in difficulty, I don't know if there's a better way to explain it or if it's just the nature of the material. Incidentally I got 1 over par on both "Record a routine" and "The full routine", do you know what sequences would be most efficient for those levels?

Just wait until people clue into this and start prompting their models to introduce typos on purpose.

I love slide 18 with the implication that researchers don't create and engineers don't think.

Yeah, that's the point I was making; not that those people shouldn't be interested in science funding, but that when you're in that position you're going to end up voting for whoever promises you lower taxes etc. (regardless of whether those promises end up being just hot air).
