I have to ask: why the two accounts/alts with almost identical handles? Even if I suspect you’ll assert there’s no reason for me to assume you’re the same person as the GP.

Only if you believe that knowledge is zero sum.

It's refreshing to feel us try and push the societal envelope again after two decades of stagnation. I only hope it doesn't go the way our proposed-but-torpedoed carbon emissions tax in the late 2000s and the butchered NBN rollout of the 2010s.

To qualify "insane speed" for anyone unaware, think a 10x improvement over even Cerebras. On the order of ~15,000 tokens/s. Not saying their approach scales well enough to keep pace with the various frontiers, but using their demo alone feels like a paradigm shift.

Does your terminal emulator not support bells/notifications? If it does, Claude Code (and albeit without checking surely Codex too) supports them natively.

I'm grateful that this is possible via Up bank here in Australia. Webhooks push the data through a free-tier Worker on Cloudflare and into YNAB within a second of the transaction going through. Full updates across pending/cleared and deleted transactions too. I’ve had this running for 18 months now and it's been a dream.

I like the comparison, but I'm not sure it holds. What did it cost him to develop beyond intangibles such as his time and money forgone? Because the latter especially is not equivalent to upfront capex and opex costs that preempt any ability to be charitable. Genuinely asking, but I'd be hard pressed to think it's even within the same magnitude.

This is fantastic, as others have said. Could you talk a bit about how it's so wonderfully fast?

It's articles such as this that truly make me sit back and marvel at our species. What an incredible accomplishment.

We were doing LTSC for Windows 10 years back as well, so I'm genuinely curious about any resources on this. We're very by-the-book and I'd be incredibly shocked to find we're actually in violation of any laws/ToS.

I couldn't disagree more. In a fight for existential survival, repelling an invader at any cost constitutes a win. It may almost be pyrrhic in the end, but deterrence is invaluable.

Not to lose sight of the very real cost, down to every man and family destroyed. Many may even argue that life under subjugation is still at least life. But many more have walked the walk into the fire, in defiance of that notion. I see no way of arguing the opinions of the living outweigh those of the dead when it comes to opinions on what's worth fighting for.

I would add that this isn't advocating for blindly and endlessly throwing meat into the meat grinder. But to the extent that a country tells you, not from the top down but from the men on the very frontlines of war, that they're willing to die, to win... I'd say believe them when they say they understand the costs, and yet consider it a win not in spite of those costs, but in the face of them, defiantly.

This makes me incredibly grateful for having a regulator with teeth in Australia. AFCA very recently awarded me (well, my mum whom I was helping) $1,000 with very little work due to Bank of Queensland temporarily locking an account.

Seconding the correction that LTSC is not restricted to hardware OEMs. I work for a multinational construction materials company and we image LTSC machines day in day out.

I tried this on the iOS 27 beta with Siri AI and it worked, to an approximation. It'll take 5 minutes from the original timer just fine, but not from the remaining time no matter which way I phrase it. Still, a massive improvement in my eyes.
