Nick asked in late November 2024 how he could bet on the country getting better over the next few years. Iirc the suggestion was driven by the idea that merit is going to be taken more seriously now.

Absolutely massive L that 1) he wasn’t already in index funds and had to ask and 2) thought the election of this monster would lead to a better country

Decoupling or not I can’t trust anybody that would ask something so stupid driven by an opinion so easily disproven.

Zuck has been using the term for a while in the context of Muse, if anything Trump took it from him

> think porting "traditional" software - say Nginx - to it will be agonising

I think this is basically a solved problem with enough agents and enough compute now

No need if you can get a BC250 for less than a PS5 these days - though even that may be difficult now

This brings me back. Some of my best memories were playing DayZ in 2012 and getting absolutely torn apart by bandits.

Don't think I've had a gaming experience like that since, including with the standalone version

I think deepseeks leadership are bad too

…did Opus 5 write this?

I’ve heard “earns its keep” in only two contexts in my life - the intro to the song “Regulate” and terrible Claude docs

I went down a YouTube rabbit hole of Gerry Anderson and I think it’s fascinating how (from watching the intros) how machine and (cynically) perhaps toy centric the shows appeared to be - this rabbit hole ended with watching the 2004 Thunderbirds movie (do not recommend even though the star made The Brutalist)

This is extremely impressive work; kudos. I was thinking about this with regard to Asahi's anti-LLM policy just last week - they're going to get completely outmoded by LLM-harnessed reverse engineering, if only for personal use and not upstreaming.

I'm surprised you worked with Niklas on this. I'd have assumed you'd think he was competent, given he went to Binghamton and not Stanford.

Presumably, that would be what the KVM/some kind of power switch would be used for

Wifi drivers, display drivers, maybe graphics drivers...

Is there anything stopping this from being thrown some investment plus LLM tokens? I wonder what a KVM connected to the machine plus a few thousand in Astra/Fable tokens could do here. It seems funny to think of software feature defects in OSS software now if people are building full recombinations of closed source software daily now!

Makes me wonder - in the year of Astra and Fable what prevents people from building bespoke BSDs for their hardware rapidly now?

I built this concept a few weeks ago even - not nearly as good though, I used wiki data plus LLMs for most of the data sourcing and reverse geo coding but the dataset here seems a lot cleaner.

Is Asahi an LLM-hostile project? I'd imagine this is something that would be benefitted tremendously with a Fable class model
