For projects like this the first thing I like to look at is a ChangeLog. That gives you a sense of the momentum.

If you click on the "News" menu item, you need to have Telegram app installed. :(

They are going to deeply regret going with two digits year codes. ;)

So amazed at how Libreoffice just keeps on keeping on.

Such a great free open source suite to keep on every machine. Even if it is just a fallback to Google Docs/Sheets.

The left one is better - reminds me why I prefer Google Docs.

We need more EQ (emotional intelligence) in our UI design.

This is an area that AI will be unlikely to solve.

Designing a SAAS that can motivate and relax and not manipulate or stress requires a particular human wisdom.

This is useful to me as I live in Google Docs.

Thanks.

I clicked with interest.

Ugly cookie popup was the first thing I read.

Then some big ads at the top and sides begged for my attention.

Next was the paywall box selling me some complicated subscription deal.

Dreaming of a world wide web that cherishes writing.

Sure there are risks- but it is fantastic functionality to collaborate in a web first app like Figma or Google Workspace.

It's not on that wikipedia page but in older Linux desktops using XFree86 windows system (before X.Org) there were always warnings that certain monitor settings could break your monitor hardware permanently.

I was always fearful of breaking an expensive fat monitor.

I love the idea of decentralised apps for freedom of thought and privacy reasons.

One quibble with this claim: "with no server running 24/7 just to sync the data every once in a while, you avoid the production of the server in the first place and the energy it consumes when running."

Has anyone done any studies on this?

I personally wonder if a million book authors using Google Docs online on Chromebooks is going to be more energy efficient than a million local PC's running Libreoffice on Ubuntu?

Would there be a growing job market for people who master the Fuschia ecosystem now?

Or is it basically just for Google employees working on Google devices?
