Are there any "hackable" smart watches with (e)SIM available? I would love to have such a toy as standalone device with internet access. All I've seen so far have only BLE.

The nice thing about the internet is that people blame a good portion of websites, but you can happily live in the internet without visiting the web at all. The Gemini protocol is a good example. Fediverse is another.

People don't want to social dropout (neither physically nor in the internet), so it is a common thing to ask others to support the own decision (like a group social dropout). This obviously won't work on big scales because it never did. "The internet" will only decline if somebody invents "a better internet", which will most likely be some protocols based on the existing ones.

This is not true. There is dbus these days. There was CORBA and friends in days when COM was new.

The various "VPN/IP over DNS" solutions miss a typical, more performance variant: VPN over UDP/53. Because DNS is frequently not filtered in badly locked down hotspots.

With all respect - the opposite is true. The web succeeded because HTML and HTTP are easy standards easily writable by humans with text editors. HTML was writable by non-programmers.

Mathematica has a crazy amount of syntax abbreviations (https://reference.wolfram.com/language/guide/Syntax.html). Of course your whish is fulfilled there: x // f called the postfix operator.

I generally put markdown in /docs. I don't uppercase filenames. Instead I make a documentation generator consume the files so I get a decent navigation in HTML/PDF builds.

We did put non-code into /src for a very long time: It was heredocs, multiline docs, etc. Actually my preference is to put texts close to code and only fallback to /docs/something.md at a conceptual level. Which is probably what the author proposes, given that he sees markdown as primary interface to code.

Thank you so much for Dolphin!

I have been a hardcore Konqueror user back in the days. Early dolphin felt like a back step. Nowadays, thought, it easily outshines Konqueror. I still miss a few KIOs which were showcased in Konqueror. I guess they were discontinued.

I am just delighted by the screenshots. I love this Win9x like interface aesthetica for being dense in font size/information, very stringent in optics. Even if this is not exactly the colors and shadows of Win9x, this aspect remains. There were a few Web toolkits in the past which also had this, but since the dawn of mobile UI sickering into the desktop, we somehow lost this art. Even the rather consistent KDE/Gnome UIs don't feel so "home" for me as these (frankly nostalgic) Win9x.

For portfolio and service only, virtually any GH alternative discussed here will do it. Even a self-hosted cgit or static page git browser will do it for read-only.

What about IPv6? (SCNR)

Another thing is the stdlib integration of goroutines. We see this in Python where various generations of paradigms kind-of coexist. Golang built their goroutines into the heart of the stdlib which puts it IMHO in a special position.
