I blew up the tractor and paid 10k for hospital treatment. I know the NHS is on its knees but sheesh

I haven't used Windows in any real capacity since the early days of Windows 7. As I say this is definitely a personal preference thing that i've likely picked up in recent years. It's just mildly annoying to me that every other browser I use has it on mouse press rather than release

I actually tried Vivaldi the other day for the first time in a while, and every so often the browser frame/chrome just completely freezes on macOS. Tabs will not close, I couldn't open any new tabs etc. So it was a non-starter for me, hopefully this is an isolated issue. A bit of a shame because purely from a browser frame UI perspective I found it refreshing (however I do dislike the left/bottom bars). But one thing that irritated me is the right-click menu doesn't appear until you release the mouse rather than just when pressed. I do however acknowledge that's an entirely pedantic issue of personal preference.

I was under the impression that certain functions required by uBlock Origin still weren't available even though Apple embraced WebExtensions. I may be wrong.

Yeah, this baffles me. I can't figure out why this still exists. I've got to imagine the volume of people paying that fee specifically to develop Safari extensions has to be low.

Thing is Safari is a nice browser to use, but without uBlock Origin it's a non-starter for me, all these 'content blocker' solutions are either bloated or nowhere near as good as uBlock Origin.

Blanket stating that users don't understand is pretty dismissive and frankly quite patronising. I'm a big privacy advocate, so I don't personally like volunteering location info, but personally know lots of people who will happily do so for all sorts of reasons (e.g. seeing each other on snapchat maps), they understand what they're doing. Simple fact is, plenty of people just _don't care_ and that is their right to do so.

I don't think this is fair. Eating healthy and working out is objectively good. Whereas for plenty of people, these customisations are just that, a "rabbit hole" that was interesting when they were younger but then it got tedious. Now they've found a setup they like, be that intensely customised or a fresh macOS install with VSCode. I wouldn't consider either indicative of greatness. A lot of people just want their computing environment to get out of their way.

I only really live around a Tesco & Sainsbury's, so I was under the impression that generally the 'non-clubcard' prices were more or less in-line with competing supermarkets for most items? Is this wrong? My only other frame of reference really is Sainsbury's which I've known to overprice things anyway.

Is there any way to change the default dark/light themes for Firefox on macOS yet? I don't like the 'Default' theme but I do like the 'Light' theme, so when I use dark mode I want Firefox to use the 'Dark' theme but then change to 'Light' when i go back to light mode and not the 'Default' theme. Is this possible? If not is it in the pipeline anywhere?

Other than that, Firefox is incredible and I'm always happy to see new updates.

I rate Apollo highly. Very well-designed, very fast and honestly I won't use reddit in a web browser anymore, specifically because the experience doesn't come close to Apollo. So my hats off to the developer.

That said, one really annoying bug that seems to have shown up since iOS 13, is that on the odd occasion after being on another app and swiping back to Apollo the swipe down to refresh feature just doesn't seem to appear or it freezes when it does appear and forces me to restart the app.

Just curious if anyone else has had this issue?

Okay, so I don't really post to HN and this may seem like a silly complaint but Firefox's management of theming just seems off to me. I use macOS, I don't fiddle about with my wallpaper very much and so this stains Firefox's top bar with an ugly brown tint. I could switch to the light theme, however when I do so Firefox no longer respects my system change to dark mode.

Does anyone else get bothered by this? Is there any way around this? I'm not an aesthetics person by any means but this is quite annoying. It's a fantastic browser other than this, I've been a user for as long as I can remember.

I'm sure you can probably modify userChrome and all this and I've not really tried because I'm not THAT bothered by it, but surely there should be a way to set your preferred themes for light & dark?
