This is why when I use AI, I still download from the browser and drag and drop the outputted files like a caveman. Sure, it's slower, but it keeps my mental model more up to date and has less security risks. I can even...like read the thing before I run it rather than giving a LLM access to my shell directly. Also anecdotally, it seems more token efficient for those who care about that.

True, but there are other people working at the companies that probably own stock in both their own company and some of the others...if you believe that this is the future, you'd be a fool to buy non-AI tech stocks, right?

I didn't get that from it. This is just venting from a teacher irritated by someone being toxic about something they made to inform people. Not sure I'd have named the person that was the "inspiration" for this. At best it probably won't change a lifetime of learned behavior, and at worst they will take glee in 15 min of fame.

even if their motive is "make our product better", that is still just the profit motive with extra steps. the reason to make your product better is to make it more competitive so that... it makes more profit long term.

Well, that can't be good. Hello higher prices for worse service.

Save yourself a slog. The automated checks found that the citations didn't exist and flagged the "papers". A better title would have been "Automated Systems seem to hold back the AI Slop papers. For now." Sweet writing studio, though.

for now. some people seem to think we should make ai native programming languages and just let them be black boxes. which is a bad idea imo

Most have internal batteries and are still "on" to a certain extent unless the battery is completely discharged.

Came here to say missed opportunity to call it "PAgent". Rolls off the tongue better than Page Agent.

+1 for NoScript. It is kind of a pain for the first few days when you have to spend 10-30 seconds reloading sites to allow the minimum needed. It is also eye opening to see how much bloat is added and how fast pages load without all the extra bs.
